Longtime lurker, first time poster as ive never felt i had anything worthwhile to contribute. But i cant take it anymore, it seems the aftermarket support for the Panigale sucks, and anyone who tries to incorporate products for the 1199 into their productline, fail.

Take integrated taillights, and fender eliminator's for example...barely anyone makes them and the ones who do, suck. DP, Rizoma, Lightech, Competition Werkes, and the like are a joke and their "solutions" are neither effective or asthetically appealing. I realize a lot of this conjecture is based soley on opinion, but I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

The only individuals who have made worthwhile products, no longer do. Tbot got burnt out from the demand and never really had the resources to make an actual product come to surface. (Bless his efforts, as its more than anyone else has done.) Bucci created the best fender eliminator ive seen to date, then went AWOL after one batch. Which makes no sense if he is at all associated with the motorcycle parts manufacture Bucci Tecnologia Italiana.

That said, it seems no other companies are even interested in creating their own version as the R&D costs outweigh the demand. Exhausts have limited options, as well as just about every other upgrade an 1199 owner might want.

Moving on, the bike has been a phenominal failure when it comes to racing, and the homologation model hasnt seemed to help in placing podiums. The recent release of the 899, with its price point WAY to close to the 1199 base has led Ducati to a price hike on all 1199's.

When i sit back and look at the the direction things are headed it leads me to believe the production years of this bike will be limited with an overall replacement in the near future.

The 1199 is the most expensive bike on the market right now, aftermarket availability is right where it should be. How many exhaust systems are available for the 458 Italia versus the ones for a Corvette?

The tail tidies that are out now are just fine. What else do you need it to do? And LOL at Rizoma being a "joke." The DP and Evotech units are great as well and you won't get any arguments from me regarding Competition Werkes quality.

As far as racing goes, I'm assuming you are talking about SSTK and WSBK since the 1199 has little in common with the GP bike. Ducati is actually not doing that bad considering it is a brand new bike. It took the S1000RR two years to get a win so you have to be patient.

In summary, I give you a 3/10 for your trolling attempt.

Every once in a while one of these shows up.

A community like this one is no different than the general population, it's a percentage thing;)

Haha. Wow, neither gay nor an attempt at trolling although I suppose that is the reaction one might receive when entering their home and questioning their possessions. If that's how my post was perceived then it was misread, I am not insulting anyone's possessions or the upgrades they've chosen. I'm simply stating that for a 20-30k bike, I expect more than some riveted sheet metal covers and smaller blinker housings. The object of IT's is to integrate the turn signal with the brake housing and if you feel Competition Werkes has succeeded in that with the individual LEDs interrupting the fluid light path of the stock unit, then we have a difference of opinions. I simply feel the products we should be seeing should be of a higher quality, with matte carbon covers and completely hidden componentry. For those who prefer antenna style signals or want to maintain legal lighting I understand.

Your comparison to the Ferrari makes sense but isn't entirely valid as its price point is way higher and the number of 458's is probably far less than the Panigales. Not to mention 1098/1198/848 seem to have plenty of a following despite the obvious time advantage.

Only time will tell when it comes to the racing pedigree. Hopefully you are correct and we'll start seeing some wins. I suppose I'm just discouraged.

Come back when you can quote global sales figures.....

I wouldnt venture to...why is everyone receiving this so negatively? Did I quote anything official or make any blanketed statements other than voicing my own opinion and asking for your own?

Better...

I thought my post was well written and well founded. I've done the research, I've heard about a search button, I provided examples...I don't see where I went wrong.

I sense your lurking ways may have ended a bit prematurely. Continue lurking...

...I don't see where I went wrong.

I don't think you did........the thing is, since this bike is such a hoot to ride, not too many people in here think there is anything wrong with it, I know I don't, nor do I care how it compares to its competition, or the possible problems Ducati may or may not face with this bike. The only part that bums me out me is the upcoming end of the season, with this bike sitting in the garage it's going to be a very long winter...

Just looks suspect, first post, your complaining about a trivial part on the bike as your first argument, with a title that says the Panigale's future is on the rocks.

Any manufacturer that goes racing wants to win. Just because its been a "phenominal failure", doesn't instantly send it to the scrap heap.

On the track it might not have lived up to expectation, sales on the other hand might be a completely different thing.

Ducati reports record sales in a difficult economically environment. Motorcycle sales in many countries in Europe at least, have dropped last 2 years.

The 1199 have more potential to wrap around the track quicker than any other bike. They just need to tune the bike to a great rider and increase confidence in the bike over time in order to realize the true potential of this increased technology. The bike is nimbler and more powerful than anything out there. It just needs to be dialed in and rider need to meet its extreme potential half way in confidence and Ducati 1199 will be there at the top of the podium. This is my opinion.

If you don't like Rizoma then you've got somethin wrong with ur head!

Rizoma is great stuff, design and materials. I have the racing footpegs and hole plugs. Top quality meets or exceeds oem for sure.

Lol. Rizoma does make some great stuff but they seem to be lacking products for the 1199. Either way, nice bike 357! On a side note, do you like the gas cap or do you find having to have a separate key for it annoying at times?

Again, for those who feel I am attacking their beloved Pani, I am not. I praise this bike just the same as you do, my frustration isn't directed towards Ducati, but rather the aftermarket support.

Fragile-That's the first time I've heard it put that way. "A rider just needs to meet its extreme potential half way in confidence and the bike will be placing podiums." Very eloquent.

Ducati had record sales in 2011, topped them in 2012, and is about even in 2013.....besides the cornerstone Monster, the Superbikes drove this. I hope that's not too upsetting. Typically the Superbikes have a 4-5 year run for each model.
