Hey all,

I have yet to buy my pani and I still haven't introduced myself yet on the forums since I'm going to be waiting until April to purchase it. But since 2012 I have been lurking forums and building a parts list for when I do. My question is how easy will it be to sell the oem s wheels (to offset the cost of gold marchesinis) and what is a going rate?

Thanks guys

For a set of R/S rims you're looking at $2,000 shipped value in good-excellent condition.

With big scratches on both rims expect $1600-$1700.

when selling your rims be prepared for lowball offer city. I've had too many morons emailing me telling me my rims are worth $500-$700 a piece. I just laugh at them and tell them to go buy base rims with that money.

In the end your out of pocket is not going to be so bad. The Marchesinis are already so light it makes no sense (in my opinion, so all you CF lovers don't jump on your usual soap box) to go carbon fiber or magnesium unless you're:
1. An incredible ccs/ama racer
2. Going strictly for aesthetic purposes.

I know the average guy like me will see no difference in street/track riding with wheels only weighing a pound or so less than the Marchesinis. Just my opinion.
Spend your money on an Akrapovic system and an aftermarket tune, if you're like me you'll be much happier that way.

It's for aesthetic purposes only, I'm not a fan of the oem spoke design so I wouldn't be going mag, just alloy. I'm also having a hard time deciding between getting a matte black 14 or going for a 15 in red. It's a significant price difference but the price isn't the end all be all for me. I would like the 15' to come in matte black but I guess we can't have everything all the time ;)

I'm planning on having the wheels off the bike on delivery so they would be NIB condition.

This is a silly reply. Used parts are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

No, you will not get $2,000 for a set of stock "S" rims, not online atleast. I purchased mine, in flawless condition for $1550 shipped and i resold them months later for $1500.

That is where you will end up being. If you get $1600-$1650 then that would be great. GL

There's a set on ebay now sans rotors for $1,450. With the 10% ebay coupon floating around $1,305 shipped.

Why not just anodize your stock S wheels gold?

I Considered that, I also considered just plasti-dipping them gold but also the spoke design doesn't sit right with me. Although it is an inexpensive temporary fix to offset the initial investment. I'll put more thought into doing that.

The problem is that I'm very impatient and I want to have all the parts on the bike when I take delivery and work it into the deal.

I've been told there is a lot of satisfaction that is gained from putting parts on the bike as you go butttttt... That would require looking stock for a while -_-
