Parts bin specials for WDW2022 Race of Champions

Speaking of fast, glad the TT is back. Motorcycle racing for me in general is somewhat of a snooze fest but this .... is on another level. They did an outstanding job on Hickmans BMW. Construction and detail on that build is amazing.

Really? Are they not legal in some forms of sanctioned racing? I never see them.

I can't comment on regulations in various race classes, but they're allowed in my class.

I was very surprised. A second hand set came up online cheap, so I bought them. Fitted them, and went on a trackday. Didn't really notice any difference. Swapped the front wheel at lunch, and the ducts were a bit of a faff to bother with, so left them off. I was very surprised, I could feel the difference. The brakes are more consistent, and have a slightly firmer feel at the lever, happy days.

Not a night and day improvement, but an improvement nonetheless.

Hasn’t it been the Hickman/Harrison/Dunlop show this year?
Sure but first I clearly stated “to me” racing is a snooze fest. As a spectator, for me the TT is night and day difference from watching guys go around in a circle. You tell me what’s more interesting to watch Hickmans helmet cam or Rea’s helmet cam. And to be fair, it’s been the Rea show for the last what 5 years? How about the Jake Gange show last year? Awful.

As painful as it is for me to admit, I recently became a NASCAR fan. I like the fact that I have no idea who is going to win on the last lap, that without crashing a guy can go from first to 9th on the last lap. I like the fact that a guy in last place can finish in the top 3. I like that their is a crew strategy factored. I like that you can use profanity on the radio, wreck whoever you want and enjoy a good brawl afterwards. Other professional racing organizations need to do something.

In GP, Ducatis solution is classic capitalism, just field way more bikes than everyone else. “Hey Ducati got another podium” shocker. Don’t get me wrong, motorcycle racing is amazing and the guys that do it are amazing, I just think compared to the TT, Northwest 200 etc that traditional motorcycle road racing is a bit subdued at least from a spectator perspective. Again just my opinion.

Interesting perspective, WSBK to me is fantastic to watch at the moment with the top three fighting it out, we are lucky to be around to watch it. I am always amused when people say they are bored when a master is in form like Rea or Marquez has been in the past, its like saying Hailwood was boring. As always the art is in the eye of the beholder. People forget the utter domination or various Manu's throughout history as well as riders, we dont want lefty socialist racing where all the kids get a prize for existing and anyone can win, whats the point?

where do you watch hickmans helmet cam?

all the videos I've found of this years TT have been abysmal

When is someone going to race a Ducati on the Isle of Man?
I would say, why bother. Fragility would be a consideration I would think. No perimeter frame/SSSA and in general “just my opinion” (always have to put that disclaimer in) the brand seems to take a lot more of everything to make it competitive. Seems like if Corse isn’t behind it and funding it, it’s a non starter. I think it takes far less resources to go fast on something else and there are a lot more resources/go fast parts for BMW/Kawasaki and Yamaha readily available for non factory funded riders.
