So I live in Chicago and took my bike over to North Ave. beach because finding parking is so much easier on a bike. Got a ton of looks pulling in the parking lot (of course) and a few guys feeling good on their bikes until I pulled up.

Long story short, I caught a glimpse of some ....... grabbing a handful of sand and rubbing it on my seat and speeding away... (....... ghetto Mexicans)

WTF is wrong with people?

Lived in Chicago area , northern suburbs, for 40 years before moving to AZ. I would NEVER take anything nice anywhere near the city. You need to head to the beaches in glencoe, winnetka, wilmette or highland park. Your Pani will fit in better and people have more respect. Things are much 'lighter' in those areas.

Not only that the ride up Sheridan Avenue is quite nice.
 
Last month I threw a pic of mine up on a local forum for bike of the month. OMG, it caused such a controversy I ended up removing the damn pic. I was accused of trying to "buy cool", and the whole thread turned into people justifying why they were voting for other bikes and hating on me/mine. LOL. I had no idea I would be causing trouble from one pic. By the way, I have never met any of the forum members so it was impossible for it to be anything personal. I guess these things make you a target by default?

In China if you're caught in the country illegally they lock you up (and not in a nice prison) and interrogate you... In this country you can't even f_cking ask if you're here legally...

True but I live close to downtown... I carry a knife on me at all times so if someones feeling lucky again, they better be able to run faster than me otherwise they'll have a Ducati logo etched on their forehead

This is why I don't ride into town, only up north in cottage country on the weekends. Everytime I go into town it never fails some ... does something to my bike. To date I've had guys sitting on my bike chatting up passing girls, a girl on another nearly dropping it when she tried to stand it up, a van back into one despite having two parking spots between us breaking the side stand and food found on it from crackers to nacho dip. Worst was a HD guy using it as a rest, rocking one of my bikes back and forth on its centrestand nearly tossing it forward. The only consolation there would have been the number of more expensive HDs he would have knocked over.

People are weird and do not respect others property.
 
The one city in the country that would best benefit from a concealed carry law is dead set against the entire idea. Wonder why? ....... ........ would be well ventilated in my opinion. And id claim Ptsd flare up due to uncontrollable anger and stress! Sorry bro. Guess you need eyes in back of your head our there.
 
@ Gunny You might want to remove that last post in order for that defence to hold up should you require it at some future date ;-)

So true, thankfully I don tlive near that area. Im in a very Gun Friendly state where they even have the old western "open carry" which just looks plain odd!
 
they are wild, sexy and expensive (more than many other bikes).

not everybody has one, not everybody needs one and some won't admit they would want to have one.
 
I don't tend to hear about such hatred towards Aprilias or MVs - or do they also get the same reaction?
