Finally picked her up last friday in the afternoon.
After one and a half day of riding, got 800 km of pure joy :D
Planned to put on the remaining 200 km on a trip tommorrow, so she can get in for first service.
Here are some of my experiences with this beast, don't know where to start, but let's take it away :)

Most important thing, set it to 195 HI !
While revving up the gears and when taking of at traffic lights i noticed it wasn't fluid, like theres a 1 sec of delay (feels like the clutch is hold 1 sec after you twist the throttle)
After 400 km i switched to HI and since then it's fluid handling all the way, no more delay between shifting gears and taking off is really taking off !! :D
I also noticed in high traffic, the first gear was unbearable in LO, in HI it's just smooth rolling @ 10 km/h, much more dosable.

Handling
This bike cuts like a hot knife through soft butter !
Where i had to tear my 1098s on his side, this bike just goes where you're looking.
Man i trapped myself cornering this thing more with my knees against the tank than hanging next to it, have to admit i definitaly didn't try to take it to the limit, once i can go over 6000rpm i will be more focussing on cornering instead of watching the 6000rpm line
None the less, this thing steers where you want it, and does it with ease !

Heat
 Where is everyone raving about
Have no heat issues at all, even after a trip of 350 km with one quick gas-stop, no heat, nothing !
For anyone that's complaining about heat, rent yourself a 999 or 1x98 and stop crying for the rest of your life !! *sigh* :p

Quickshifter
I like it :)
But i stopped using it, as it really isn't intend for quickshifting @ 6000 rpm
It will randomly hit neutral (stopped using it after it happened the fifth time and the dash goes crazy and the exhaust gave some zeus-is-on-your-...-thunder) and had it happen a few times going from 4th to 5th gear it jumps back to 4th gear, as i said, it's definitaly not intend to be used on low rpm, i'm sure it will deliver once it gets in high revs.

Mirrors
Only thing i can think off it's usefullnes is that it has the turnsignals integrated
Ooh and to look if there are flies on my forearms :p
Pretty useless, just like the mirrors on all past Ducati superbikes.

Seat
Got the comfort seat and that was my home for the past 2 days :D
I like it, no wristpain with my 6'7" wich is pretty unique, i like the position of the Pani, way more comfortable than my 999s or 1098s i had before.

Clutch
Great -point-

Torque
This thing pulls harder than my 1098s with 176bhp / 142 Nm
I really don't know where some are talking about a dip between 3500-4500 rpm
I had the full 70 mm Termignoni installed from day 1 and all it does is pull in one straight line till i hit 176km/h in 6th gear @ 6000 rpm, no dip, nothing.

Exhaust
Got the 70 mm header to join the Termi mufflers the Tri came with.
It is turning nicely gold, blue and purple, love it as much as my Ti Akra i had on my 1098s, no, love it even more as the sound is awesome !
It's one big rolling headturning, earbleeding THUNDER !
Especially in 3th gear around 5000 rpm close the throttle and pull it open, %$#$%%KAPOOW**&^$!! it's like the thunder comes in and the lighting strikes right after, makes me smile every time :D

Lights
Love those LEDs, look way toooooo cool and they give a good amount of light in the dark, backlights look like there's a UFO flying over the highway.

Footpegs
Got the Rizoma Pro-pegs installed as those OEM pegs look slippery, way more slippery then OEM 999/1x98 pegs
Have to get used to them, as these are realy grippy, have to adapt to take my foot of the peg to replace instead of easy replacement sliding from front to back, heck these is what they are made for, GRIP and that's what they do.

Fuellconsumption
From reading my dash it's aprox. 1:12 l/km
Not of any importance, this thing is for racing, not for costeffective riding.

DP racescreen
Love it like i loved my Fabbri solo pista on my 1098s, give me good windprotection even with my 6'7" and not unimportant -> looks sexy

Traction control
Works great, almost unnoticed, have seen it come up once in the dash when getting of the ground at the end of a speed bump.

Hard starting
None !
Done 450 km trip yesterday, with only gasstops, started up right away every time after a blip of the switch, might be the loss of the flapper valve, no issues at all.

I'm surely thaere are lots of thing i didn't write down here, what just don't came to mind right now, but overall if i have to bring back my experiences with this bike to one word it would be -

AWESOME!!!!

Very happy to have her home after all this waiting, and definitaly worth the wait !!
Here sits one very happy biker :D

*too much smileys in this 'review' ? Don't think so ! :) :D :p  :D

Thanks on your feedback, glad you like it and just wait until you can rev it past 8K, talk about smileys:D

Holy crap, you're 6', 7" tall???? Unreal.
Great review my friend. Don't be worrying about hitting the 6k rpm range, wind that thing up and let her rip man!
Ps. Love the piece about how even being that tall poses zero issue with comfort seat! I'll leave it at that. Also, you echoed what I've been ssaying for 4 months now- if you think you feel heat youve never owned a previous Ducati superbike!

Well done and congrats to you! Good times ahead !

Some of my latest

As I Tri owner Im sure you will like to see some of the mods Ive done. I still need to prepare list of them all. Last pieces will be ALL the CDT / Carbonvani carbon in high gloss and it will be done, oh except for some sweet rear sets that is!! :D

Hey Gunny,

Where did you get all those bits from? I'm liking the reservoir caps.

Reached the 1000 km mark today.
Dealer will pick her up tommorrow for her first ( free ) service.
Can't wait to release the beast and finaly put the qs to good use.
Very happy with my dealer, great service and willing to listen to his costumers :)

Nice !
But imho it's just too much.
Like to change some subtile things but no fan of too much bling ( red and gold parts)
But to each his own, luckily we don't all have the same taste, would get boring ain't it ?
Peace bro !!

A good dealership should always do pick ups and returns free of charge, so good on them. Are you saying you did not use the DQS during your entire 621 miles? May I ask why not?

It's in the above review :)
After hitting neutral for the fifth time i stopped using it as it's not intend to be used on low rpm (i used on 5500-6000 rpm)
Also had it shift back from 5th gear to 4th a few times. (4 -> 5 -> 4)
I'm sure it will work flawless @9000+ rpm
Drivin it in by the book <6000 rpm (but revving as hard as possible ;) )

Btw with free i ment the first service, not only the pick up :)
As a lot of others get ripped of for something i insist on to come for free with buying a new bike.

Congrats! Glad your having a blast. Good to hear your thoughts.

As far as the QS, I had a couple missed shifts in the beginning but I think it was just me getting used to it. After 1100 mi have had no missed shifts since the beginning and I use the QS all the time no matter what RPM.:D

You might have your dealer look at your QS, because if you are missing shifts and having the tranny jump back a gear, then there might be something else going on.
I've been using the QS from the moment that I picked up the bike and use it at any rpm with out any ill effects, have done with every QS I've ever had on all my bikes, glad to hear that your local dealer is doing the 1st srvice for (free )

good on you, enjoy your bike

same with QS - no miss here at any rpm

maybee worth checking for your own piece of mind
cheers

I'll see after first service, as i said i think it will work fine on 9000+ rpm, that's where it will be usefull anyway.
And maybe it's just me with my big-foots (EU size 49) doing something wrong :p
I'm pretty sure the QS is allright :)

Back link-pipe is getting nicely blue :)

As Larry said, must be bike specific since I can do it at any rpm, even idling in any gear! Been using it since day one in all gears, all speeds, and all rpms and never had one issue of false neutral or jumping back down a gear - which can scare the hell outta ya too. Mention this during your free service. :D
