Recently used a Pirelli Supercorsa TD 200/55 rear and the TD set really made my 1199 S Tricolore behave the way it is meant. Problem is my supplier says the 200/55 is discontinued but 200/60 is available. I'm sure track guys are using the 200/60 size. Any clearance concerns? Any issues with traction control? I have stock gearing and DTC set at 2. Thanks in advance and any information is greatly appreciated.

I just spoke with CTRacetires, I was told the Pirelli Supercorsa TD 200/60 isn't in production yet. You are correct about the 200/55 being discontinued though. FWIW, the V3 Supercorsa is awesome for trackdays also.

Interesting, I did notice the 200/60 showed as "on order" and not "in stock". I found another supplier that did have the 200/55 so that's coming to me tomorrow.
if its any help 200/60 v3 supercorsa sp's fit perfectly
Sounds like 200/60 TD will fit and that the supercorsa sp v3 works well in case I want to go in that direction in the future.

Something interesting I have found is that I now can feel the bike behave differently as I exit a corner going from leaned over to upright. On my supercorsa sp v2 it felt like it had more grip leaned over then less grip in the middle where I'm really getting into throttle and then grip again when upright. I didn't notice it before but I think after trying a single compound rear tire (TD) I notice it.

Thanks guys for the info and feedback.

AI ran the TD tire for 1.5 seasons. Great tire, but like any DOT tire it has its limits. Fast lap after fast lap they will get greasy.

I have one 200/55 TD left from my tire allocation this year, will never use it since I am basically slicks only. Welcome to PM if you want it.

Thanks... going to PM you so I have something for after this one wears out!
Cant wait for the 200/60 TD to come out!
The trend is for bigger tires it seems. Maybe the 60 will be better. Not sure but if there is no longer a 55 option I'll have to go 60!

I can see them getting greasy on the track for sure. I'm running them on the street though and even then on a hot day I can see them starting to want to grease up. By street I do mean weekend riding which luckily is twisty and technical.
I've been running the slick version for years with wonderful results and absolutely no clearance issues. I just switched to the new 200/65 slick, which also works wonderfully well, but doesn't fit the old-style PitBull rear stand if your running tire warmers. No problems with clearance on the bike though; all good.

I have a moto D racing bike stand. I actually took a look at my clearance with 55's and I'd imagine a 65 is touching or coming real close. I don't use tire warmers on the street. I have done track at Barber with my MV Agusta F3 800. I had Michelin Power Cup Evo's and they did grease up on me even in Oct without tire warmers. Rear came loose on me after I picked up the pace and this was on an 800. Any liter bike at pace will overpower a DOT tire on the track. In the future I would not use anything but slicks and warmers at a track.

Thanks again for the feedback!!

I could never see pushing the TD tire past its limit on the street.
It takes me 4 or so laps of pushing hard to get this tire to overheat.

I agree... it is ideal for me on the street. Other than only getting 1200 miles out of them! But grip usually will cost in longevity. I'm glad to see more tire options for guys in between casual street and pushing hard on the track!

Yes these tires are phenominal, even at a good pace they are really good.
At full race pace, even at AM times they are ok.
I run them on my Final Edition on track and they are good.
I can get them much cheaper than the SP tires so i run them on her

I agree about using slicks on the track. I just did my first track day on the 1199 with street tires, they did ok but i had a few slips on the front tire. Never felt comfortable pushing the bike so im going to look for a used set of wheels so i can swap for track days.

I put some V3 200/60's on my rear and preferred the feel over the 200/55. I know I know...I can raise the rear or drop the front to get the same effect...but without that...they were great
