Powder coating fork tubes

I saw MichaelDorian and ShiftTechCarbon both powder coated their front fork leg assembly, including inner fork tube. So question:

Anyone experience any problems with the forks sealing after powder coating them, with the slightly different texture, diameter, and such?

Also, with some of my powder coated exterior stuff (heel guard), it wears off over time, so wouldn't that happen to the fork tube powder coat over time? And would that stuff end up gumming up the inside of the forks?

Input appreciated. Experience welcomed.

I wouldn't. I would do a hard anodized or diamond like coating. The forks get a lot of little road debris and it might start chipping. You want the forks as hard as possible.

shift tech has put no coating on inner fork tubes...

if you want to do so, i'd go DLC (only 2 microns thick) like scrapper wrote

Thanks for the input.

So DLC for the fork tubes and powder coating for the rest of the fork leg assembly (the part connected to the calipers)?

Who does the DLC? (I'm in NorCal) Or what type of shop does that type of coating?
