Hey guys,

Thoughts I'd say Hi. Picked up my new 1199s last Thursday. Interested to connect with any other owners out there.

Happy to share any info I've learned in the short time I've been an owner.

Jay

Heres a few photos I took over the weekend.

congratulations, I too picked up mine last Thursday what were your first impressions?

Still on the 6k rev limit, which is driving me nuts. Booked in for the firs service on Friday!

So far impressions are great though. The bike sounds incredible on these pipes. Brakes are something else. Engine revs really smooth and the quick shifter makes the one on my BMW seem old school!

Only negative I've got so far is experienced a couple of false neutrals shifting from 4th to 5th using the quick shifter. Both happend on the same stretch of road and havent happened since. Made me very wary of over revving risk though.

How about your view so far?

first ride out, great.

I love how the bike looks somewhat small on this picture...!
Without being indiscreet, how tall are you...?

A previous picture of a TRI delivery in UK, made the bike look very big.
I prefer the way it looks under you...!

Can't wait to pick-up mine...:D

Congrats....! ;)

Not got a price on the first service but it's not likely to be high given the work they do. You're basically talking about an oil change and a check over.

Yes I also had the quick shifter find a false neutral between 4th and 5th it has happened to me 4 times in 250 km very unnerving
Cost of the first service should be free ....no?

I'm at just over 500km I'm going to talk with the dealers tomorrow. There's a serious risk of over revving.

I'd also be careful how you clean that LCD..... Even the softest cloth puts fine scratches on the screen, which are really visible in direct light. Betting quite a few people make the mistake of touching it with their gloves.

Good point.

3M adhesive cover anyone?

You don't happen to be a famous acid jazz/jazz funk artist from the mid-late 1990's by any chance?

Congrats Mate! Hope you're enjoying it. Making me feel a little jealous sitting here waiting.

Please describe in detail for us Ducatisti what happens when you get a "false neutral shifting from 4 to 5" ?

Does it actually say "N" on the dash? or are you just inbetween gears?

My thoughts are, it's impossible to find a false "N" between any gear except 1 and 2.

Please enlighten us, thanks guys
