Putting evap canister back on

I was reinstalling my front wheel yesterday and was bouncing the .... out of the front to settle everything in. With all of the gas sloshing around I noticed a slight gas odor but it wasn't anything I would have been concerned with. I certainly never smelled gas while riding.

For those saying fuel doesn't escape the vent line or can be smelled..... why would you remove the evap canister then? See my point?

Rode 160 miles today. No issues after putting evap back on regarding stalling or hard starts. Temps in the 60F's and windy so didn't really ride any wheelies. Took maybe 6 breaks and started perfectly everytime.

No gummy stuff on the side of bike today.

Didn't have anyone behind me so can't say if fuel smell for other riders is better. Don't like when anyone follows me, way to many riders have gone off road behind me.

I noticed that ethanol fuel does have more torque. Seems to run cooler as well compared to the non ethanol.

Will need a warmer day to really say about engine running and evap issues. Im sure it takes a while for canister to flood engine.

Funny, I feel like my bike runs better/cooler with E0 vs E10.

That makes more sense. Ethanol requires richer mixture than gasoline (if everything else remains the same) so adding 10% ethanol would effectively be leaning the mixture

All I know is that fuels that require richer mixture are less effected by changes in atmospheric conditions. That’s why ethanol is good fuel for bracket racing

Gonna keep it out of my street bike tho : )

Well, bike still starting fine. No evap canister related issues yet.

It'll take more riding to really say what the e0 vs e10 is doing. But, the e10 feels like more torque at lower rpm but less power at higher rpm. Especially on a humid day. The e0 made more power at higher rpm and in that way i prefer it. I also prefer it in terms of what ethanol might do in the long run to the fuel system.

Warmer weather today. Did a wheelie on a full tank. Then stopped to talk to a group of riders I know. Yup, a prolonged start. Nothing that left me stranded but still annoying. Maybe 4-5 seconds vs immediate.
