Hey all.

I bought a second Suomy helmet. My first is a Medium, and fits well.
The second is a medium but feels a tad larger. Which I'm a little miffed at as I could only get in online, and I thought a medium would be fine. That said, I couldn't get a small. I did think if trying a size smaller. I prefer them to run tight.

I wondered if anyone has a suomy and knows if you can run a size smaller (or even larger) in the cheek pads and liner!?

Appreciate any comments.

My first suomy was a size larger. But that was over 7 years ago. My latest Suomy fits on par with my arai and agv....which is the total opposite of what youre experiencing! LOL. I guess nothing beats trying them on 1st. Sorry if I confused you even more!

before i answer this as i love the suomy product line which models were your helmets?

i had to spec 1r extreme (their top of the line helmet at the time) and they both fit me like they were custom made for my head i loved it. suomy fits small i am a medium in everything else i needed a large. graphics are the best in the business. Being me I sold one and I crashed one so i no longer have them. Suomy no longer makes the spec 1r extreme (mine was the wall st edition). Their new top of the line helmet is now called the SR. Its a different internal shape i believe. it doesnt fit the same as the spec 1 r. the large is too big and i dont like the med.

i am very disappointed in this as i can no longer use their products and i felt they were second to none.

Buy thicker pads and you are good to go ;)

you can buy thicker cheek pads but the front head pad you cant change so if thats the problem you are out of luck. i had that problem with my original bell star. bell has since fixed the fit of the star

Thanks for the reply!

It's a Vandal. And thanks to the replies and a bit of research,
yeah it seems I can swap the cheek pads and headliner.
So I'll get a couple of sets of thicker pads and see how I go.

It feels a bit taller, so it moves down over the forehead easier then I would like.
My first Suomy medium is a vandal, and it's a great helmet and fit.

So does mine, that's the only thing I did not like about the helmet. Love the light weight though:D
