Help Support Ducati Forum:

I have used this on many different bikes never had battery issues even even when I was not driving for many weeks.
I need to find a place where should I install mine on the Panigale :)

When reinstalling the front wheel does the axle notches align with anything to with the fork or simply insert axle alignment tool and do the nut up?

Im licensed to carry concealed in Wa. What does carrying any or all of those do to prevent theft when you're not around? Do you sprinkle them about as a deterrent:confused:

Recently bought a 12' 1199S in Tricolore. So far im really happy with my purchase. My sportbike experience is predominately japanese so there is some uncharted territory for me here. With that comes a laundry list of questions. And while im sure I could sift through the threads searching for a variant of what im looking for, I thought id post them all up right here. Feel free to refer me to an applicable existing thread if you know of it. All advice is greatly appreciated!

Heat
is there a remedy for riding in the "hot seat"? I understand that my bike has an "updated" shield but man, my ass was sweating last weekend and it was only 60F! does it do me, or my rear any favors by putting exhaust wrap on the piping? is there a seat that rides cooler/dissipates heat better than factory?

Anti theft
what do you guys recommend for anti-theft devices? unfortunately lojack isnt available in my area. And beyond that, my biggest concern is someone deciding they want to mount the bike (there aren't many panigales where I live and it drew considerable attention on its first outing which further fuels my paranoia) I was looking into ducatis motion sensor but I would REALLY prefer something that alerted a key-fob instead of just a noisemaker that eventually kills a battery or two. pipe dream?

Track fairings
is the kit offered by ducati the way to go in terms of durability/ease of installation/removal? im not deterred by paying a premium if it means less of a headache everytime i have to fiddle with them.

Sato engine sliders
Anyone have experience with these in action? I purchase a set of them but shortly after have heard that in the event of a slide, the pressure can cause the case to crack. Any truth to this?

Does anyone know the production numbers of the 1199 tri?

Recommendations from long time panigale owners?

A good dry wash option?

Thanks in advance!

Lots of good suggestion up there, here is what I have of you:
Heat: You won't be able to eliminate it, you can reduce it; I have the DEI heat shield under the seat, and I also got the CF subframe cover and I played some heat shield on the underside to reduce the heat. I also put it on the exhaust shield. Eventually you will get used to it.

Sato Frame Sliders: I got them on my bike, and I think they are the best looking out there, they are functional and goal is to take all that energy from the impact, so yes they may become an issue but I would rather deal with them than the bike parts.

Yeah I figured as much with the heat. I think ill start with the comfort seat and maybe wrap/shield whatever I can. The updated shield obviously doesn't cut it and its horrendous looking. Anyone have recommendations for a good carbon shield?

Yeah what ive heard is that the sato sliders transfer the load to the engine case, cracking it. This has only come from one riding buddy. I purchased the sliders per the dealers recommendation so they will still be going on the bike. Just threw it out there to see if anyone could confirm it. so far, nobody has.

to apply the Gold Gel, did you cut the oem seat cover ? (Lui says in their site the Panigele OEM seat cover is not removable..)

I got my eye on the R Corsa cover..

I cut the oem seat after I removed the cover, but I bought a customs seat cover. If I knew I would just cut directly through the oem cover. It would make the job easier.

I did some research to find a good working carbon heat shield last year. I came to the conclusion that the best option is either the OEM DP Carbon heat shield installed together with OEM aluminum heat shield or the Termignoni updated heat shield together with their aluminum heat shield (this is also possible to install on OEM headers). All other options seems to suffer from burning if just installed above OEM headers without any other modification (as ceramic coating and exhaust wrapping).

I ended up buying a Termignoni full system including the heat shield instead of just buying a slip-on and an additional carbon heat shield. I have now also sent headers for ceramic coating before installing them"¦

Good carbon shield ?

The Akrapovic full Evo system comes with a great great gloss CF heat shield. Does not stop any heat (nothing does) but it looks great.

I was joking I don't understand why anyone would be far away from their bike that's all. Do you leave your bike in a parking lot and go shopping in a dept store?
I've gone out for rides either by myself or with people and my bike is never out of site. If I grab something to eat I eat outside if I get coffee I'm outside. It's not like I go to a movie leave my bike in the lot.
At home my bikes are in the garage or in the house.

Maybe you want to take the bike to the beach because it's easy to park and no traffic..
Maybe you want to go to a nice restaurant with friends that has no view over the parking place..
Maybe you want to go to a nice place like Sesimbra in Portugal and take a walk at the beach and go to eat seafood and then enjoy the nice roads around..
That's my reasons to get a good alarm and not be worried each minute I was not watching my bikes..
Or I needed to become the type of guy that use the bike to go from A to A

Honestly your bike will be gone in 60 seconds save your money I hear an alarm you know what I say what annoying person has an alarm shut that crap off. Nobody pays attention to it and you think anybody will step in to help somebody that isn't there you are nuts. So your going to the beach on your panigale. Where is your chair? Towel change of clothes if you go in the water? Helmet gloves where are they let's be serious here

Watch the video regarding the sri900 I don't need help with that alarm just need a notification that someone sat on my bike
Someone is near the bike
Etc
Before I had this alarm sometimes I came back to the bike I found girls taking pics on the bike [emoji3]
You can even turn all the alarms off on the bike and only get notified on the remote control [emoji6]

Regarding how to take the bike to the beach.. where do you live??? You are losing great moments in your life using your Panigale [emoji3]since I moved to Sweden I am not taking my bike to the beach anymore [emoji6]

Actually the stock new style termi shield works great compared to that shield.

Provided the engine is under 200f

The bad heat is not from the exhaust, its from the engine temps.

Now if you have a crap shield your ass will get cooked even if temps are down.

Mine wrapped and large shield is sweet until the engine gets hot, in stop N go on a 100f day

I was having a bit of a joke and pushing the Akra and even though we both ride the fantastic Husaberg FE450, I disagree respectfully that the heat comes from the engine. Well I suppose it starts there but I have always thought the heat radiating to my right leg comes from the exhaust.

Whichever way it gets hot on a hot day in traffic. In the future I am planning on modifying the cooling system with new radiators and maybe removing the thermostat.

I did notice an improvement with my TB fan setting change. It now comes earlier to get ahead of the heat curve.

And anyway "What heat" :):):)
