Quick action throttle?

Damn... 760€ for something that should have been on the bike from the factory...

Does anybody know what the difference is between the OEM throttle (66020011B) and the RS throttle (65410081A) is? Does the RS throttle fit on the OEM wiring loom?

TorErik?

motion pro offers a great quick throttle. i have it on my ninja. only reason i dont have it on the pani is because i dont track it. they offer 4 settings its a quick change. 35 40 45 and 50. its called the revolver.

Revolver | Motion Pro

That's not available for the Pani... There is no aftermarket throttles available for the Panigale, that I know of...

kope (or anyone with a tossed one) send me your destroyed one and i will have something for ya guys in a month or two (or three).

my previous company designed the ride by wire QTT for bosch motorsport and Magura for KTM.

let me talk to them guys.

i will take mine off tonight and take it apart. can't be more than a piece of magnet and some hall sensors. :D

Funny note on this subject. If you read the issue of Roadracing World where they tested that Attack CRT bike, they mention that Stanboli used the throttle from a Multistrada to interface with the RBW system that he fit on a ZX10 based engine. Using Motec electronics of course.

I took the part numbers and am having my dealer search for me. The simplest solution is to just have the TPS reprogrammed so that let's say you get full throttle at 3/4 turn, so basically the throttle bodies are full open then.

Yep!

How about that lil bit of slop? Any way to get that out?

That slop bugged the .... outta me! I've always ran my controls with almost no slop. Ducati Westlake modded mine and now it's perfect, exactly as I would have it with a cable adjustment. I think they charged me around $150.00 since it's a PITA to do. Worth every penny IMO! :)

Modifying the Ride-by-wire tables in the ECU is pretty easy, if you know what you're doing. My teammate/sponsor had it done on his bike, and loved it. He changed to a linear RBW-table on each gear, and a shorter stroke. Then modified the throttle itself to put a mechanical stop where the "new" 100% position was...

The "computer-wiz" that made the mod to the OEM-ECU charged him pretty steep though, and that's why I'm hesitating and looking for other sollutions...

This bothered me when I first got mine, too! I was told by a few people that since it was DBW it couldn't be taken out. Is there any way to get details on what was done exactly so I can take it somewhere and have a clue of what words to drop to get it done correctly? lol

I have zero free play in my R throttle. Did it myself. If you open up the mechanical control of the RBW on the throttle side you will see that there is a physical gap of 4-5mm in the part where the twist grip actually turns the spring loader RBW unit. I bought one of those very small silicone rubber feet you stick to the bottom of glass display items. I carfully cut out a rectangular section of rubber and after cleaning with alcohol inserted it and glued it with the original adhesive in the physical gap. Perfect fit. And zero play. that was 4-5 months ago and no problem since then.

Jarelj also has a solution available for the throttle slop that can be purchased at Ducati Omaha. Sadly, I do not have the product name or URL available so maybe jarelj can chime in.

Duc Le Smart...Just call BMS (or Jarel at Ducati Omaha for that matter)... I'm not aware that it is posted anywhere online

zohsix01... it's a set of plastic "shims" that go in the RBW throttle body

Stolen from the 899panigale.org forum... Response originally from jarelj

We do have some throttle spacer kits available now that remove the slop from the stock throttle. I'm going to put a caveat that these are for "racing" use only, and improper installation can screw things up, even to the point that you could get a stuck throttle, so use them at your own risk. I have them on my bike, and it's way better now. They're $60, which is way too expensive for two little pieces of plastic, but that's the cost of custom-made high quality precision plastic parts. So again, they're dangerous and expensive, I'm sure no one will want them.

If you read all that and still want some, PM me! ;-)

Yeah, we have a few kits on hand. I'll get them added to our online store and post up a link.
