Quick question about RapidBike...

I'm kind of set on getting a Rapid Bike for my 1299, my question is Evo or Race? What do I gain with the Race that justifies $300 extra? I know what the description says.. basically just ignition advance, pit limiter etc? I do ride a bunch of track days in Expert but mostly on the road, I'm not convinced the Race is worth the extra for me or am I missing something?

Just go with the Evo, the Race is really for racing, especially with motor mods being done where you want to raise the rev limiter.

How do you alter the rev limiter settings? Can it be done by gear?

The price difference is actually $185 and IMO, spend the extra money. The Race unit also has ignition maps for your particular bike which will advance the restrictive stock setup(manufacturers have to have very conservative ignition table to meet emissions).

Is it necessary?- No. Like jarelj said, it is more oriented toward the track, but your bike will run better with the remapped ignition and fueling tables more so than just fueling alone. Jut my .02
