Quick shifter micro switch

Wouldn’t any unit that actually IS a strain gauge have a additional box and a way to adjust at which pressure it sends the signal to the ecu?

My IRC has that but I still have no adjustment for kill time : (

Correct. You need some logic interface with a SG either stand alone or integrated into your electronics package (Marelli, Motec)

Just as a point of reference for anyone reading this in the future, Mick and Endodoc are correct - this is an email from Translogic before I ordered mine:

“We don’t have an Intellishift system for the Panigale, just the replacement sensor. The sensor is not a Strain Gauge, the technology is similar to the Ducati sensor, but of much higher engineered quality.”

Excellent post Craig. I installed the TL when I first built bike 1 years ago so I never had a “stock experience” to compare it to. I can confirm that the Cordona at least to me is a better solution.

I'm a mediocre track rider, but the cordona unit was night and day better than the OEM unit once my stock one .... the bed. Only thing i had to get used to was the sensitivity. I had a habit of "loading" the lever when preparing to enter a downshift/braking zone. The cordona unit didn't like that, would blip the throttle without there actually being enough force to shift. Changed up my technique a bit and everything has been buttery smooth since.

The old IRC I got used comes preset at 10 or 12 kilos (smoked) of pressure to trip but is adjustable all the way up to 40 or down to 1. Aren’t they all like that?

@MaverickiB , Thats imho the main difference between the systems.
a load cell is more (or less) wayless.
maybe that's a benefit when hanging off, you save 3-5mm shift way/foot angle on each direction.

@Don14R, iv'e tested half dozen bikes, different brands, stock qs and aftermarket, they all were around 8kg.
so 10/12 is more on the high end, i think.
we set a friends R1 IRC also to 8kg with good results.

So to simplify and clarify for me gents your saying bin the OEM shifter and get Cordona . Plug and play and make sure the module is away from the header when installed. No set up on diagnostics?

Hi IDhi,
I have a used HM Plant strain gauge OEM replacement quick shifter for the V4 for sale. See hmquickshifter.com. £200. I am in the UK. Ping me a private message if you are interested.

Thanks for the offer Razz but got my feelers out on the Cordona go.will let you know if it all goes .... up

Razz how did you find using the HM ? I can't believe more people are not using them. I only went through my local bike shop who suggested the Cordona GP.

It was what you would expect with a strain-gauge shifter. Much more precise and consistent.

Hi Guys, want to thank you all for all the comments on the v4s blipper, problem . Decided to follow your advice and bin the crap OEM shifter and go with a Cordona. Thanks to CYCLER for supplying ,real top Guy helped all the way great communication and very knowledgeable, if you need any race or bike parts hit him up on the forum.

Hi guys just come back from a ride on my 2018 v4s .Issue yellow warning light and when I shut the throttle the bike surges forward ( bit unnerving going into corners ). Local dealer plugged it in and the auto blipper micro switch has a voltage error . ( Bike thinks someone is standing on the down shifter) told this is going to cost £500 upwards. Bike out of warranty ,is this right?
Ouch !

Thanks mate seems What he did was ok way he'd him in the workshop but I have seen the part (from Ducati micro fisch) and supplied from Germany for around£80

Hi fella

do you have a link or part number for the micro switch ?

Mine is showing low voltages on the up/down - I'm having surge issues on the upshift (race shift) and just had it diagnosed by Ducati

2.5v idle
3.19686v up
1.69529v down

that voltages should be ok, in my opinion.
can you measure the resistances? (edit: while moving the wire directly at the sensor, and/0r the connector)
first at the ECU connector, then the sensor only.

What tools/diag unit do you guy use ??

I had taken mine to Ducati to get it checked which costs ... I might look at getting a drag tool ...

This is an interesting topic. After having failures with both the Translogic and Cordona, we’re now back to running the oem quick shifter.

With the Cordona, clutchless up shifts worked consistently, but downshift and blipper almost never worked. It also caused the bike to miss and surge, sometimes on the side of the tire and sometimes under acceleration (so badly my helmet would hit the windscreen). Someone speculated that perhaps the quick shifter was interfering with the throttle signal causing it to surge or cut. Either way, it was unsettling enough I felt I might crash the bike.

The bike is now running perfectly with the oem qs reinstalled.
