I thought it was set on an R6? I know Mike Sanchez has put down some fast laps on Brad Bohac's R1M but I was under the impression that the lap record was on his R6.

Anyway, I'm in agreeance on bringing the 1299 out. I've run mine and the 675R and they're both a blast on that track.

Hah, I've seen a few 1299s out there and figured some of you guys had to be on the forums.

Sanchez has the CW and CCW records. CW its on his R6, CCW it's on a R1.

Damn nice riding

Makes me feel slow i run around i 2.27 on that track and i'm on a faster bike :), i better go buy some carbon that should make up the time.

Ha! I need to dump the stock exhaust for starters.. lose some weight & add some power.

Me too! A couple of track day buddies were raving about Ken's podcasts and said that I should subscribe.

I was talking about MotoX's YouTube page :D

But yeah, I've been subscribed to Ken's podcast for a while and have worked with him at The Ridge a couple times. Great coach I really love his approach and commitment to the sport.

Subscribing to that too! LOL :D

Try the helium in the tires, and if that does not work try slick 50 in the engine.

Way fun! And nice lines!
If you want pointers, you can go on throttle MUCH harder after inner apex. The 1299 has insane exit drive grip. And you can hold more throttle input and brake later, instead of coasting. I do the same, and was just made aware og it after I FINALLY for to bring a camera after 3 years of track riding.

I recommend reading up on www.lifeatlean.com if you haven't already :)

I agree, look at the video again, you hit the apex and you are still decelerating for a bit before you get back on the gas. Lean it over, get on the gas but don't accelerate, just stop the decel and unload the front and stabilize the suspension, hit apex and bleed in throttle, if you are on gas at the apex and the bike is stable, you will be more comfortable getting on the gas at the apex instead of well after the apex, and you will know how much is too much.

I bet you got more than a second in there.

Funny how I've never been on that track once but know every turn. Thank you Gran Turismo. Lol
