i have yet to receive mine......what size are the nuts for those that installed ¿ ¿ ¿

They are not nuts that are fitted, you can use the OEM bolts. These are Hex headed bolts, M6 x 20mm. Fitting the savers will effectively shorten the bolts (how deep they thread into the airbox), due to the thickness of the saver brackets, so if you really want play safe, use 25mm.

I will take a look at the distance and weigh the option of trimming or not.

If you do decide to go ahead let me know how much you had to shorten the plastic bobbin by please. It's very hard plastic, so probably best if you know someone with a lathe. Would take a couple of mins that way and you'd end up with a much neater finish.

Turning down the length is an easy thing to do, but it might not be a good solution. The plastic parts should absorb as much energy as possible.

I really like the (alternative) positioning of this solution. Checked for milling two additional gaps into the top yoke, but that is not working because casting is too thin.

I guess the best thing would be to design a yoke installed the same way, but one piece of delrin...

I have extensive knowledge of plastic, and access to many different types of CNC equipment. So I should not have any trouble. Once I get my hands on it, I will identify the plastic and go from there...

i never lock my steering.....i will stick with stock bolts and use some blue loctite...thx topolino!

I'm not that worried about the steering lock if these savers can't be modified as if I ever have to leave a bike where it's not in constant view, it's always locked to something solid and immoveable. Lockstops present zero challenge to the opportunist thief and are easily overcome. Then again so does a chain or a ground anchor to a well tooled and determined professional thief, but it does at least buy you some time and they can't move the bike without attracting a lot of attention and making a hell of a lot of noise.
