R vs S Rims

Okay, I thought the R and S rims were exactly the same, with the exception of the red stripe on the S rims...? Just read Evol's Tri listing and it mentioned R rims as a $2,000 option...? So is there a difference?

I ask because the R i'm buying; the guy put the red striped rims from his S on the R for the nice look of the stripe.

Just curious.

That's not true. It was reported in error (and later retracted) by a reviewer invited to the R press intro at COTA. They are the same rim.

Nose fairing extensions.
Racing windshield & mirror block offs.

The nose fairing extensions (aero kit is it called?) came with my old S as well.

I just received my R 2 days ago and find the seat uncomfortable. Do you know if the seat on the S is the same? I'm interested in making it more comfortable.

lots of posts on seats, I went to the DP comfort seat and like it much better although its taller

R rims are .01lbs lighter since there is no "painted" stripe.

Stock S seat sucks also. Get a comfort or race seat to ease the pain on your bum.

Wrong! Unless that's the best painted on sticker I have ever seen.

The stripe is paint and the Marchesini is a sticker.

Thanks guys. I mean, I've looked up tons about the R, but never though I could pull one off financially. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't losing out.
From my S rims it definitely appears the Stripe is paint, and the Marchesini sticker is junk.

My Marchesini stickers are also peeling off ..... if they come off completely, will I have base wheels
