I installed the Termi UnderTail exhaust and I have tried the Armor Bodies and CRC (which I am assuming is a copy of the DP bellypan) with no luck. I have searched thru google with no luck. I am hoping someone has some info on this. I love the exhaust but I think it is a step back (1098/1198) however I wanted to be able to remove the bellypan without removing exhaust. I have not ridden on the track yet...but idling it seems a tad cooler heatwise. I have cut a armor bodies bellypan to clear the exhaust. It will need to be re-glassed back to seal it up. I was just thinking someone else has tackled this with better results. Thanks in advance for any solutions/info.

Not sure why it rotated the pic of the armor bodies pan...sorry.

Worst case scenario would be to use a turkey pan to be legal for WERA. I was hoping this exhaust would solve problems not create new ones...lol.

I haven't heard of any yet. Cutting and glassing like you're doing seems to be the only option right now. Termi should offer one don't you think?

Met a guy at the first WMRRA round a couple weeks ago racing a 1299. Story from him is that the exhaust needs to be removed every time you take these belly pans on/off. Meaning every oil change requires an exhaust removal.

I have the full akra system. The guy I met had stock headers and Akra cans. Not sure the situation is any different with any exhaust option. Best to get creative and find a way to modify what you have or consult with some various race shops that have built 1299 race bikes and see what they've done. I'll have my nose to the ground on a more workable solution.

NW1299...I got these pipes to keep from dong the exhaust removal. That was what I had previously. It is a fact you have to remove the OEM style (Termi or Akra) cans to get the pan off. The undertail system, I was hoping, would alleviate that issue...or so I thought. It is just so damn clean under the engine now tho without the cans and supporting piping under there. If I can solve this, it will be worth the expense (thanks to Zohsix!)

Seems you met Derick. Yes the bellypans mount above the exhaust so you do have to remove the cans to drop it. Some of the racers on here use the Kraitech adapter. You drill a hole in the belly pan for draining the oil and use a rubber plug to seal it.

Have you ridden with this system yet? Any performance difference that you notice?

If you look at the 1st picture the kraiitech drain plug is on there. It is a must have for sure when running oem style cans.

I have not ridden with it yet other than down my drive and down the street. It is a 100% race/track bike. Chance of rain kept me away from the track this weekend. I will say, it is louder. It may just be that the exhaust is no longer pointed at the ground. But it rattles stuff in the house when i fire it up in the garage. My previous termi full system did not. Again it may be just the angle of the exhaust. It sure "seems" louder. Of course I immediately (before installing) removed the DB killers. It sounds mean for sure. I just hope it does not go over the DB limit at NCM. I packed the DB killers in the race hauler just in case...lol.

I look forward to your feedback on these. I've no plans on changing the stock system on the R this season but maybe next season.

Yea...I had no plans as well to change. But then there is the devil (Zohsix) that throws damn good prices on choice stuff. I am eventually just going to run his sticker on my bike and say I am partially sponsored by him since that is where I have gotten most of my parts...lol. I just got my bike tuned and not even been to the track yet and ended up slapping this exhaust on...that is sillyness..bordering on ........ So my feedback may not be the best as I will be trying a custom tune as well as exhaust. Either way I will let you know. I do not need more power. However, the torque dip was causing me to downshift more than I thought I should be. Now I have a feeling I will be dragging the rear brake more over rises in the track. not looking forward to that but most hp/torque gains come with some baggage. I do not have WC on my '13R....only rear brake dragging and chin ups out of corners.

I really appreciate everyone's feedback on this forum. I've sure learned a lot on here about our bikes and what works for them. Yep I've been a member of old school wheelie control. Time to learn to trust all these new gadgets.

One thing I've been wondering is what king of impact the termi system has on the bikes handling--particularly fast change of direction. I know both systems are much lighter than OEM, but moving that weight from the lowest point on the bike up to the tail has got to have a significant impact on bike balance.

I'd be really curious to ride an Akra fitted and a Termi fitted bike back to back...

That's a good question.
One thing to think about is the Akra should survive a crash better. When the subframe tail section of my 06 ZX10 got destroyed my undertail Akras were also destroyed.

The best solution is a full fairing with a bellypan incorporated that plugs the holes where the standard exhausts go and seals the rear of the exhaust in. Like this...
The factory bellypan is vastly complicated and splendidly made in delicious carbon. Way beyond what mere mortals like us can do easily. The other teams bellypan with the Termignoni is simpler, but still complicated, although it leaves the rear headers spaghetti out in the breeze, good for cooling, but not so good for the rear tyre. It does allow them to run a shorter wheel-base for some circuits, however, without worry that the tyre will rub on the bellypan.
The last images are the Zard system on the 959 run by Greg Lefort in the French European Bikes series. Easy to use. Only minor disadvantage is the collectors proximity to the rear of the engine in terms of heat, but it's no worse that the old Corse RS bikes pre-Panigale.
This fairing is currently in production, and should be available shortly. PM for details if you're interested, but a basic mould from a stock race fairing shouldn't be too hard to do if you have a good fiberglass dude available.
