I’ve used the info here for a couple years so thought I would contribute with a build thread on a race build off a fantastically blinged out used V4R I recently purchased.

This is kind of a reverse build, here’s what I’m starting with:

beautiful full six carbon subframe (need to remove, too nice to crash)

Carbon bst wheels (need to remove, superstock needs stock equivalent wheels)

Other items for removal
* carbon battery cover
* key assembly for push button
* wrapped fairings for sharkskinz
* kickstand
* lights
* front fairing stay (for dB holders)

Two week project for race at Chuckwalla at end of March.

Hopefully race is still on.... Sharkskinz making winglets yet? Painful at over $600 to replace....

I picked up a set of Base/S wings for my bike. Still expensive at around 300 bucks for the set but not V4R carbon fiber expensive.

Can’t seem to edit old posts on phone. Here she is broken down and with the dbholders rear subframe installed:

Full six carbon vs dbholders: race subframe doesn’t have rear fairings yet or lights, But isn’t much lighter than th carbon subframe + tidy tail + lights + wiring

It did, they kept everything.

Rear and front subframes are allowed as I understand the superstock rules, so wanted to get something lighter and easier to fix in a crash.

Speaking of, the front fairing stay was bone stock, wrapped up the dbholders fairing stay, guessing 5 to 10lbs weight savings. Removal of horn, lights, signals, intake, ecu frame. See below:

fairing stay and intake installed, significantly larger intake. Had to fabricate in the temp sensor and bend the horn mount out of the way for a clean seal with the airbox:

side by side, the stock front was heavy enough it was difficult to hold up:

favorite so far, ignition replaced with Jet Prime kill switch. Replaces entire ignition with a plug and play harness, place you key in the sensor ring, push button, switches on

I think he had serious crash at Chackwalla and bike is for sale on Wera board!

Anyone else racing their V4R and struggling to get a good race setup?

I am.

Mainly suspension but thats because workshop forgot to put 95 spring to replace OE 105. Had violent headshake at Portimao 3 weeks ago past 230-240 kph coming onto back straight.

I am also trying to figure out a decent and comprehensive datalogging setup, have I2M version 2 dash but haven't installed it yet.

Going to Misano in July with Rehm Racing, hopefully sort the bike out before the date.
