depends on the track but anyone who is competent can get there with the same class of bike. Outright lap records or MotoGP are another story. In other words get on your current Pani, R-1, ZX or whatever and set it up for your weight without any extra bling, chuck on some slicks and any A group rider should get to with 10 seconds of the class record easily if not 5

This is a bit arbitrary. Big difference between being 10 seconds off the record at Sachsenring (1:19) and COTA (2:02).

The short version is that no one cares who wins the trackday. Listened to a pod today where they were talking about the awesome BSB final, the fact is that its glorified local comp at relatively low level in the sport compared to the world champs. BSB riders going to WSBK are nowhere, just like WSBK riders to MotoGP doesn't happen (Troy B excepted!) No one here is winning Moto America, they might be doing well in their local superbike championship but essentially the track day guys on this board are sportsbike riders who love the bikes and DGAF about laptimes.

A certain few on this forum believe that expertise and knowledge on how to setup a bike are predicated on ones’ ability to circulate a track quickly. I’m saying that the majority of us ride at the same /similar level and therefore you get the picture

Maybe we have a different idea about the meaning of the word 'competent', not to mention varying lengths of tracks. 🤣

I’d bet none of you lot are within 5 secs let alone 10 sec of superbike race pace for any track. And if you are I’d love to see the receipts

Toni Elias did a PB of 1:46.10 around Thunderhill, My PB around Thunderhill is a 1:56.4 as an AFM Novice. Most AFM fast guys are doing 1:51's, The AFM champion can do 1:49,s on a 600.

Get off this forum! We’ll slow you down haha! Also that’s impressive.

This was mainly directed to andy who’s my personal troll. He’s my Huckleberry 😂 His motto is “This information was created from practical experience........” but when it comes down to this practical experience yielding results (aka pro level lap times) it all falls apart. Basically, there’s probably a thousand+ posts of us bickering like a married couple. I find it fun as it keeps me occupied while doing mind-numbing hours on the indoor trainer

It's all good, just showing you what club fast guy's can do (not me). Look up "Soulless Ginger" on YouTube to get an onboard of my AFM races. I blew P3 last open twins race because I went on cruise control and got passed.

Red Bull is very commercial, I bet their bills are big due to all amenities they offer.

Motorbikes finish around 5.30pm, at 6.30pm evening session for cars.

Same as Brands really.

I remember that thread. I seem to recall that he started by saying he did around 1:50 and within a few pages he was saying he did mid 1:40s. Phenomenal progress over a few pages. 👏 I expect he’s getting close to the lap record by now.

1:50 to 1:45 is nothing special, but still slow

random guys on youtube first time there do 1:42 easily

You do realize tires wear and conditions vary? Dipped to 15 sec off MA times on one day and the next was 18. Seems pretty consistent to me for a B+ rider. Anything under a 50 and predictable lines can bump up to A’s. But yeah, talk to me when you get out of diapers

1:45 is within 18 seconds from AMA Supersport so its believable

A group running under 50 and not under 40 is hardly believable.
