Thanks for sharing this! Would help with the 3rd-4th gear upshifts that you almost have to kick to get the gear out. Nice that it fits the stock rod too, would be cool with the IRC shifter

heck ya this is a great product...i reviewed it here

10/10, would do again!

Was at Portimao this week and missed a critical shift from 4th to 5th a couple of times on the back straight...dash lit up like a Christmas tree and I lost drive for a second or two - not fun with other bikes running close at speed.

I thought it was just me being captain clumsy. Do other people experience similar from time to time?

2020 V4, Spider rear sets.
Thanks

What QS?

ECU flashed to the '23 QS strategy?

HM Racing QS.
Dealer did some update when they recalibrated the gear position sensor after the original burnt out with a dead short and put the bike into limp mode on track... Will check with them.
So the 23 QS strategies can go on a 20 model?

@cl955 Can you post your findings on if the '23 strategy works on a '20?

I had asked my local dealer a while back and was told that there was nothing available for the '20 MY.

I had asked my local dealer a while back and was told that there was nothing available for the '20 MY.

spoke to my dealer (who also run a BSB race bike and have just won the Supersport title with a V2) and they said that there was a change made on the 4th to 5th change (maybe others) on the 23 bikes, but this is not backportable to the 20 MY bikes - I think he said the "cut" was bigger, and the strategies probably align to different gearing introduced in 22. Obviously talking standard Ducati software.

He did point out that any slight throttle roll on a high gear/high speed shift is going to unload the gearbox and mess up the shift... this is definitely something that I do as muscle memory, and need to work on it! I'm an analogue rider in a digital world.... :)

Thanks for the tip!, I just placed an order. Sometimes I have issues with downshifts to 2nd, but I think its more due me having a bit of a stressy situation into some corners then the bikes DQS system...Hope it works with my Lightech rearset.

My kit arrived today and I got it on the bike. Won't get to ride it until the weekend. Super easy install. If you can manage to install rearsets, this won't be a thing. I took some extra time trying to get all of the slop out of the Rizoma/DP rearsets, not that there was a lot, but the M6 threads in the shift lever stripped and one of the o-rings was broken. One helicoil and a replacement o-ring with some fresh grease it's all snug and smooth.

We'll see how it feels on the road.

DP rear sets are pretty solid.

I notice a little play at the lever pivot but that’s nothing a washer won’t fix.

For sure. The DP rearsets are very good. I can detect slop by hand, but by foot...in a race boot, I would never notice.

The replacement o-ring I installed was slightly fatter, and seems to have taken up any slop. Which again, to say there was slop is overstated.

What's the verdict on this? I've installed similar units on different bikes with mixed results. On a Triumph Daytona 675, it was a night and day improvement. On my Twins Cup Yamaha Fz-07s, it didn't change anything. I think it depends on how long the shift shaft is and some other factors. The FZs shifted great without it, and I got it just to try. If anything, it helps reinforce the shaft in a crash, as I've broken one before, so at the least that was helpful.

I suppose people were missing shifts? False neutrals? Was it indeed the lack of having this, or maybe different rear sets and/or linkage was needed? Both?

I haven't tracked by V2 yet, but I haven't experienced any missed shifts or false neutrals on the street. I may give it a track day first before I try this. But would like to hear some more feedback.

Did just install on my -22. Seems to be a nice help to stabilise the gear change mechanism. Felt a difference in the lever, even if I have the Lightech rear sets. At -25C it is a bit chilly to make road testing for the next coming months I am afraid.

TBH, I have never thought the V4 was that bad whereas the xx99's definitely have a poorly supported shifter rod. All Panis suffer from poor quality (but lightweight) pegs, levers and shift mechanisms. They are just passable until they start to wear then they are awful. The best upgrade is heavy duty rearsets with fixed pegs, oversize rose joints and bearing surfaces.

+1 on the shift support, it does work great

Has anyone received a titanium heim from racetorx recently? I paid for one that was "in stock" yet it wasn't delivered, crossed out on the packaging. I reached out to them but haven't had a response.
