Hi guys, I'm writing to inquire about the RB module in reference to a 2015 S1000rr. And yes, I know this is the Duc forum! There is not a lot of info on the S1000rr forum and RB seems to be very popular here so I'm hoping you guys will excuse my presence here and help me out.

I love how the S1000rr feels at sea level but unfortunately I live near 5000' above sea level and this has a huge affect on power. I'm hoping the RB race module can help me get some of that power back. My question is about what I need to know to get my bike tuned well. My last bike was an 08 cbr1000 and I had a bazzaz TC unit and auto tune module. Very cool system but the problem is I don't have the knowledge required to get the most out of it. Like what AFR to target for different rpm ranges. So I'm wondering if it's going to be a similar experience with the RB module, but also add timing map and it's just more stuff that I don't know how to get the most out of. Is this thing plug and play or do you need to enter target values for both afr and timing?

Also are there any Pani owners in high altitude areas and if so can you comment on how the RB helped?

Thanks a bunch!

Give Yaman a call. He works at the main RB company for USA. They're out of FL. Rapidbike.us super cool dude

Thanks, I will definitely contact him. I'm still looking to educate myself as much as possible first.

Thanks Mike, that's a great thread and I did read through a bunch of it. I also traded emails with Yaman. My main question remaining involves ignition mapping. In the thread it says the RB module comes loaded with an ignition map. Does the unit continue to modify the ignition map like it does with the fueling or is the ignition map a static map? From what I've gathered doing research it is a general rule of thumb that you can get away with 1 degree of ignition advance per 1000' of elevation. I'm just wondering how you guys go about dealing with ignition and if high altitude guys use more advance or not.

It does have a baseline map but constantly changes it.. I have ridden in different elevations and my bike pulls hard no matter where I am.. It works perfectly..

Okay, Yaman cleared up my question on the ignition map. This map is indeed static so it does not adapt like the fuel map. He mentioned it would be best to have a Dyno tuner do a custom ignition map for my altitude and also I could get the map switch and have a different map for low altitude. Unfortunately there are no dyno tuners in the area that I would trust with my bike. I'm wondering if it would be a conservative approach to just bump up a couple degrees from say 5000 rpm to about 9500 rpm. I also wonder if it's possible to know if the knock sensor has triggered? Here I go again, good grief!

Bellissimoto or take it to boulder motorsports for the Dyno run
