Thanks, TCSF. As soon as I asked my stupid question I went to Austin's website and found my answer.........but thanks for taking care of a brother.

I, too, would like to know how well this device works fresh out of the box without dyno time...and what improvements might be made by spending a little time on said dyno if it's practical to do so here in the desert.

I figured a more detailed answer from one of the guys at AR might be more informative.

Does the rapidbike module come with a default improved map? I know you can use it to fine tune to an individuals bike to get maximum but wondered if it came preloaded with a good default setting that would sort out the majority of owners' issues.

For example, buy a Power Commander and you can go on their website and download specific maps for your bike, setup and exhaust choice. Sure, they're not as good as getting it on a dyno and having the bike tuned by hand but they go a long way to improving the manufacturers ...... settings.

BTW - the reason the manufacturers OEM maps are ...... is because the bike has to be tuned to be able to run with a variety of different fuels from different regions around the world and meet emissions standards in certain regions. It is a compromise that they unfortunately have to comply to in order to sell their product globally. You really can't blame them too much when you have the bike tuned to run at a) atmospheric region b) chosen fuel grade c) user performance modifications and it turns out to be a massive difference. You really should expect that.

Marcoma brings up a point that I ran into with my 1098. I ran a Hypertrick ECU. The thing was awsome, but it was mapped for the Swedish fuel not our oxygenated fuel. The bike ran much better and Hypertrick ECU eliminated the O2 sensor, and exhaust valve, but I still had to run a power commander to fine tune the fueling and send the info to Hypertrick so they could remap the ECU for our USA fuel. So since the Rapidbike is mapped for the UK fuels how well will it work on our USA fuel?

be great from an owner that has actually done it, rather than claims from a website..

The question was can it be fitted to stock, slip ons, or full system....the answer is yes, it's stated on the first line on their description. There's a distinct Rapid Bike module designed for all of those options.

There's also a 6-page thread, 3 threads down from this one, that discusses the dyno results, installation help, and technical details of how it works. And re: an owner that has actually done it...that would be this thread.
