Why not? KTM has one.

I have a Honda SH150i and it gets more use than any other bike I own. Use defined as riding events or trips not actual miles. Just so easy to run errands or to a buddies.

Now maxi scooters are different. Much prefer a motorcycle in that regard.

Is like to see them offer a small displacement scooter but that is even more unlikely.

My SH150i is already built and styled by Italians, just of the Honda employee variety, so I guess it isn't a big deal to me either way.

Lots of money in scooters in the European market. Look at BMW's offerings.

Scooters like these are fugly and do nothing to secure the band in the right way.....

Someone should contact Vespa, BMW, Honda, Yamaha, Aprilia, Suzuki, etc... and alert them to the terrible branding blunder they're committing in manufacturing these products.

Hah.. I was being brand i.e. Ducati specific.. But I take your point

The way I see it, if it helps generate revenue that can be allocated to areas that matter to performance enthusiasts (i.e., product development, racing, etc.) then go for it. Now if Ducati shifted the majority of their resources and focus towards becoming the best scooter manufacturer out there at the expense of the rest of their lineup then, yeah, we would probably begin to see branding issues.

I agree. More revenue for Ducati means better sportbikes and less embarrassing motogp and wsbk results (usually...). So if this gets them more profit margin, to re-invest in other areas, good for them and eventually good for us :)

Lets see if this is the thin end of the wedge then... Are we riding the last of a genre in Ducati bikes????

Ducati is a high end exotic sport bike manufactor, going into the "scooter market" cheapens and takes the shine off their image and the Brand

While I know what you mean... Ferrari is owned buy a company that makes this:
Panda - World

And Lamborghini and Ducati are owned by a company that makes this:
New compact VW up! - Official Site : Volkswagen UK

Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti were all just nameplates "created" by Toyota, Honda, and Nissan so owners could justify the higher cost to themselves because it wasn't a "Honda". It's just a mental thing.

So I'm not sure how much it matters... We are already riding Volkswagons anyway :) lol
