I have a 2019 V4 S

i want to adjust the height of the rear shock, to give the bike a little better turn in, mid corner or turn exit

The question is, how much should i start to adjust?

i mean, 2 turns?

1 turn?

half a turn?

I turn on the adjuster is approx 1mm on the shock, which adds 2mm to ride height.

I'd do two turns at a time. Ride it, then add two more. Keep going until you've stopped improving the bike.

You may find, that shortening the shock, or lifting the front, gives you the desired handling you're looking for.

So was I....otherwise, I would've said, "a turn on the preload adjuster adds 1mm of preload"

Do you know how to adjust your shock length?

thanks For clearing it out

and no, i have not adjusted the rear shock height yet

thanks for the tip, i will give it 2 turns

do you hace to loose the shock, from the lower mount?

Or, remove the shock and measure the eye to eye length. Most guys have landed on 315 - 317 mm length. I run 315 and it works well for me. FYI - I have a V4 Base with an Ohlins TTX GP shock.

No. Just above the bottom eye, there are two nuts. One is a lock nut, the other one adjusts the shock length.
You may find it impossible to adjust with the shock on the bike. If this is the case, you'll need to remove the shock to adjust it, as Cafecourseduc suggests.
You'll need footpeg stands, or if you're feeling daring, two Jerry cans. At your own risk though

thanks man

but then it is posible to adjust without removing the shock?

would be great if it is posible

312mm is the stock length on the R. Maybe the V4 and V4S stock length is 310mm?

It is possible to adjust the shock length without removing it from the bike. But it depends on your exhaust system, and you may need to modify, or fabricate, some tools.

The tools look like dog ...., but they work ‍♂️

You're right. 310mm stock.

Whats the difference between raising the rear opposed to dropping the front through the triple clamps?

Try it, and find out. Best way to learn.

Doing one will lower the centre of gravity, the other the opposite.

A higher centre of gravity may help with direction change.

A lower centre of gravity may make the bike more stable in a straight line.

Not much assuming the changes aren't too drastic. Instead of screwing with the rear ride height since the shock nut is a pain to get to (even with Akro), I dropped the front on my v4s from 2mm to 4mm of gold showing above the triple clamps to help turn in. Raising the rear a little would accomplish the same. I tried 6mm and it was too much and could see the bike folding on corners at the track.

Whilst the ride height adjuster on the shock is tricky to get to, removing the shock is really easy. Two bolts, and it's out.

True but it was just easier for me to get the front instead, no stands involved. Takes like 15 minutes.
While on the topic, anyone know stock rear height, not in eye to eye, but in threads showing on the shock adjustment bolt?

You need to start employing a ride height tool!

Or, measure from two fixed points (between the hub and subframe), and record the information.
