Rear wheel nut thread ?

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

Been taking rear wheel nuts of 916's, 996's, 998's, 1098's, 1299's,Monsters and Mulistrada's, have yet to see a single rear wheel nut with any signs of damage from the impact wrench and SpeedyMoto socket.

20 years of doing these, I'll keep doing it this way until I don't like the results.

Agreed! My electric impact is so effortless! A breaker bar almost seems like more strenuous work taking off the rear nut.

Have you ever tried Ergal, Aluminum or Color Titanium??

Any impact wrench will damage any nut does not matter how good you are with it. This bikes require special attention. IMO.

really i use it all the time changing tires and never had any issues with or any damage and i could be changing tires a couple of times over a weekend.

SnapOn 3' breaker bar. Easy.
Never use a torque wrench to loosen nuts. Great way to destroy its calibration. It's just another ratchet then.

Believe it or not the Harbor Freight Baur 20V Lithium is both light and super-powerful. Using a cordless impact will allow you to remove wheels by yourself. Also, great for counter-shaft sprockets and such. I normally use only Snap-on or Matco. But when my $800 Snap-on couldn't remove a countershaft sprocket on a ZX6R I tried the $200 Harbor Freight and "presto" sprocket nut off in a second. My new favorite tool!!
