This thread is not about, what rearsets are the best

This thread is about how does REARSET SETTINGS affect the bikes handling

Yes, i know they have to be set to be comfortable,

But does setting the higher? Affect handling in any negative or positive way?

Or setting them to far back, affect turn in?

Anyone have any input on this?

If you have them too low, then when you lean in the corner, your foot/toe can and sometime the peg can touch the ground. This can be unsettling and affect stability as there is a part of the bike that is dragging and change balance of the rear wheel.
That's my two cents.

My main concern is

If you have them too far back, can they affect turn in, in a negative way?

life at lean
all videos are good and you actually learn something :)
Highly recommended

Main thing is comfort, ground clearance and grip at lean. Also make sure the levers are positioned correctly for you - this is key. Rest doesn't matter.

I have long legs, so I go for the lowest possible (without excessive foot dragging) and typically further back. I think those with short legs might like it more forward to help them get up on the tank better

I don't believe that rearset position will affect cornering unless you don't have a stable base or are dragging toes/hard parts.

Set the foot peg for maximum outside leg stability when leaning off the bike.

When leaning off the bike, the outside leg is what give you the ability to stabilize your core and relax your upper body to pivot and work the controls without hanging on the grips with your hands.

The ball of your foot is on the outside peg, the ankle is extended securing the heel against the heel protector, and the knee is secured against the tank. Now you are stabilized.

Riders range from barely 4.5 feet to over 6 feet tall, and the only adjustment that matters for rearsets are those that give you the stability you need when leaned over and hanging off.

You performance will affect how the bike rides, not some arbitrary position of the rear set. Set it for your ideal body position and performance will be optimized.

Magnificent hardware you have mounted on your bike! NICE!

Thanks for the advice

I was afraid having then set all the way back, would affect turn in

Will try them this weekend, and report back

I set mine as high as possible - you dont want your peg to catch a curbing on a track.
This is not the most comfortable, hips cramp up first session etc.
Does it effect handling? Not really, you are supposed to place pressure on pegs evenly through a corner to maximize grip. AS long as you can maneuver back and forth on the tank with your knees you are all set.
I personally use Woodcraft, you can buy parts readily, each part can be purchased separate, when you crash and .... things up.
Hope this helps.
