The Panigale is now fixed, apparently the fault was the rear indicator loom, my mechanic rang to say there was evidence that the rear indicator little pins/contacts were damaged and had been messed with! I rang the dealer I had bought this ex demo from who denied having touched it. I actually thought why would the dealer need to mess with the indicators other than to put a tail tidy on which the bike hasn't got.
The other problem of the seat cowl having fallen off whilst I was riding I realised that I had the above fault checked at Ducati Aylesbury whilst out riding and they were the last to have the cover off, needless to say I rang them and gave them a ticking off!So, the bike is now ready at Cornerspeed having had the work done under warrantee apart obviously the replacement seat cowl.
My sic Multistrada 1200 has has an engine rebuild after mail bearing failure in bottom end of the engine which took the crankshaft which scoured the cylinders  in the process of running in the Multi

no, one of my riding buddies had a bearing go in the bottom of the engine on his 2010, mine is a 2011 both of us bought new . He had engine rebuild too

I've heard of this failure on a few multis.

It's very common on Hypermotards. Seen a few with this problem. Also the dreaded flaking crankcase paint on air cooled engines. Sure fire way to cure that is to etch prime the cases, then use a good quality high temp paint. Job done. Means taking the engine out and a strip down however.

Went to collect Monday from the tech and it wouldn't start grrrr. Had ridden the Multi up to tech and was leaving it for oil change after engine rebuild but had to come home on Multi. So, Thursday finally got Panigale turned out a wire had be left disconnected. I love this bike I keep laughing out loud pulled up at my local Yamaha dealer today people told me as I shot past before turning in the slip road the bike sounded awesome and the pavement they were stood on literally shook
I have put 750 miles on it now!

well deserved Carole, enjoy the bike, high speed riding on back country roads on the 1199 can be very therapeutic! :)
