Three rear teeth is going to extend the wheelbase. Better for putting power down in a straight line, but might screw up handling.
A + 2 or +3 rear sprocket will shorten your wheelbase not lengthen it, as you will have to adjust/loosen chain slack by moving-in the eccentric adjuster at the rear in order for your +3 sprocket to fit. While a -1 front sprocket will give your chain more slack...you will have to adjust/tighten the eccentric adjuster at the rear again by loosening two bolts...doing this set up lengthens your wheelbase.
