I'm trying to find better bike to bike communication with my friends. Just wanted to get an idea of what actually works..

Better than what?

I have used Chatterbox and like them, currently an x1 slim. Voice quality, VOX and bluetooth phone connectivity work well for me. The full-face helmet headset is decent.

Sena Smh 10

+1 easy to use with iPhone.

Pros
Ask Siri to make calls
Ask Siri to Read/send/reply to text messages
Listen to music on those long canyon runs.
No problem with helmet to helmet comm's at 900m as long as you have line of sight.
Battery life good
Good volume with ear plugs on.

Cons
Wires to speakers are fragile. Make sure you hide the wires good during install. They should have connected wires on the bottom of the speakers instead of the sides. I had solder the wires to the speaker after removing my helmet a few times.

Scala Rider, either Q4 or new model G9. My wife and I use them and LOVE them. We also can link up to the other couple we ride with and all four chat. Also runs music, phone and such through my iPhone bluetooth. Couldn't be more pleased with the set.

Ditto !!

Sena Smh 10

Best piece of gear! They even came out with a new look to this for 2013 which is slimmer but has two pieces to mount on helmet. Love the BT functionality and no one would ever know you were doing 80mph when talking on cell! I concur w STW fo sure! :D

I use a Scala G9. Links my mobile and sat nav via bluetooth and also links upto 8 other riders with G9's.

I'm with Rick. We have the G4 set, and have had 4 connected at once!

I've also connected the G4 with two of the older Scala sets.

Wife can listen to her iPhone while I listen to my own!

Big +1 on Sena. I have it in 3 helmets. You can update the firmware on the headsets via their website.

Like my Scala G9, syncs with the phone and now can make calls, receive calls and listen to music without my ipod nano.

Thanks for the input so far everyone.... I have been looking at the scala G9 and the Interphone f5s. Have used the chatterbox frs2. It is a little bulky and doesn't have Bluetooth capabilities. Simplex communication only ( which is hard for some people to grasp ( I.E. my girlfriend ) thank go she doesn't belong to this forum)....I like the unlimited amount of users for the chatterbox but for someone not used to communicating via radio it can get difficult and frustrating for everyone on the same freq/channel....

i found it

i WOULD GO WITH THIS!! The technology and the price can't be beat, the scala rider connects up to 8 people!

I am leaning towards the interphone F5/F5s. Seems to work well in " intercom mode" and has text to speech for incoming caller I.D. On my cell. Very slim design. Still waiting for more input from others though....

I am about to order the SENA SMH10R, just because I like the slim design. I don't want a big ugly thing sticking out from my helmet.

Sena Bluetooth

I love my Senas, they are on all my helmets:

On the sena website the headset looks like it is made for an open face helmet with a fixed microphone. How does it fit? Is it comfortable?

I have a chatterbox set up in my agv grid and the earphones smash my ears and the microphone presses against my lip. Unfortunately my size was between a L and XL helmet and I opted for the smaller one. I may be out if luck here.

The Sena's speakers are slim, and slip easily behind the padding in my Arai's (and Shoei's for my beemer). The boom wraps under the chin guard and is inside the helmet in front of my mouth (lower picture).

The Sena can do 4 (plus blue, etc), not sure when I would find 3 others on the same ride, that have Sena and want to take the time to pair at the beginning of the ride, much less 8! I think the controls and have heard the range is better on the Sena. Both are very good generally.

Does the wind push your helmet sideways at speed with the external solutions? (Sena, Chatterbox)
