Right Turn Signal not Working after ECU Update

So this just happened to me this afternoon. But after I stopped and filled up with gas all was well. I had already called the dealer about this, but since its now working, think I should still take it in to be on the safe side in case it decides to crap out again?

Yes. Take it in. If it happened once it will happen again.

When mine first did it, I could turn off, then restart and everything was fine for a few miles. Then it would start acting up again.
Since dealer swapped in the $5 wiring harness update a couple months ago, hasn't happened since.

craigslistbuyermn you are the reason everyone is upset. you have been warned. you are clearly mentally deficient and as such it would be unethical for us to deal with you as a normal functioning person.

hopefully, either duc returns, or your nurse/doctor/parents take away your internet access and/or put you on some stronger meds.

Take it in while you can

This guy is obviously a sociopath ..so leaving posts for him is pointless... He will never change his behaviour until he has too..i.e. Banned...

@ jjmontesanto: did you Happen to get the issue fixed?
IF NOT: I live in Germany and have the electrical harness for the blinker issue
as a spare lying around here... It's a 5 min install. If if you need the harness, I can help you out.
Either you drive over here (appr. 4 hour ride from Stuttgart), we'll install the harness and have a beer, or I can send it to you.

Hey Python, I really appreciate the offer, very kind of you!

I was able to get the issue resolved. I took it to Ducati Stuttgart (L&L). The guy initially told me I would have to pay to have the work done. So I told him we need to call Ducati directly because I know of a lot of people with this issue and they have not had to pay. He then went and spoke with his manager. A half an hour later I was on the road with a fixed bike! :)

So I am good, but I genuinely appreciate your offer. Let me know if you ever around here so we can link up for a ride. Also, if you know if any must ride roads I would love to know about them.

Thanks everyone. I had the dash replaced at about 600 miles and have about 2,500 miles now. It's hot in Phoenix and it started acting up again the last couple times. Will take it in for the harness.

This just happened to me this past weekend. I noticed that the riding modes kept coming up on my dash. I broke myself of double canceling the turn signal, so it wasn't that. Then I noticed when I single canceled my right turn signal the riding modes came up. Then I realized the dam thing wasn't turning on. I also couldn't reset my milage on the trip meter when I filled the bike up. Parked the bike for a few hours and the blinker started working again.

Now that I live in Europe, I get to see if a local dealership around will do warranty on my US purchased bike. Oy.

Exact same thing happened to me this morning. I stopped for gas just before I got home and hoped that restarting the bike would fix it (at least temporarily) but no such luck. I'll try it again later when its fully cooled down. But I'll be in touch with my dealer when they open Monday.

I had the dash replaced twice and the third dash started malfunctioning last week. The dealership replaced the right side harness and so far its working again.

I also had this issue. In essence what is happening is that the vibration is causing a short in the wiring harness, it manifests itself as the right hand side indicator and/or horn not working. The TSB fix addresses the problem and to date I have had no further issue. The fix takes about 10-20mins and is free work done by your dealer.

I have had the same problem. If the ambient temperature was above about 70F, no right turn, sometimes no horn or up switch. On the way to get the warranty fix done the left turn stuck on. Had to turn off the ignition to stop the turn signal. They installed the fix Ina few minutes all is good. My dash still fogs up but they won't do anything about it.

So this happened to me again today, the first time it happened, it had 'fixed itself' by the time I got to the dealer, so they said they couldn't really do anything without it having the issue. So I'm riding today (after the dealer is closed unfortunately) and the right signal doesn't work, left doesn't cancel, (only when it did the auto cancel by traveling slow for some distance) but I then noticed that the mode select/turn signal cancel button wasn't working. Anyone else had the mode button not work? I'm assuming all of it is tied to the same warranty issue....I'm wondering if its due to ambient temp as well, cuz the times its happened has been on hot days and when I fire it up the next morning, all seems to be ok.

Yes, mode button, flasher and horn all go on the fritz.

Tell the dealer to check TSB881 and order the cable :)
