Rizoma tail tidy

Yep here they are looking for any reason to stick it to you. Makes the UK (where I lived until I was 32) look positively relaxed.

The laid back Aussie persona that our Tourism Department tries to project is ......... When it comes to our politics and laws we're the worst sort of politically correct, nanny state! Which is ironic because Australia is rough as guts in so many ways.

We have a government that is trying to enact anti-bikie legislation whilst turning a blind eye to corruption in so many levels of state government and the unions. A man can get locked up for low, level white collar crime but some thug king-hits a bloke outside a pub and kills him and he gets off with a suspended sentence.

Sorry for the rant, i love living here, have built an amazing life and business, we took Australian nationality at the first chance of which I am very proud but to use a good old West Aussie expression 'it really gives me the .....' that the politicians keep trying to make my life harder.

I've followed the policing of the Internet you guys have been up to, I can only imagine.

wafatboy

after careful reading of the rules in australia vic

if you have the dp tail you will not be road legal as you already found out (28cm)
but let me explain so others know
it has to be no shorter then 30cm part 1 side to other.

this post might be to late for you wafatboy but mite not be for others in aust

Got a question on your install for this....

Rizoma wants you to remount the lower base plate with hex bolts and use a locking nut on the other end (inside the seat compartment). No problem removing the 4 bolts to take out the stock one. But doesn't look like it can be accessed with standard socket to hold lock nut when you mount the Rizoma unless you pretty much remove all the seat area. No problem reaching the rear two ones with a socket (the ones underneath the small tool compartment lid) but the two front ones (on either side of the seat lock mechanism can't be reached with a standard socket drive (that I can tell). I suppose I can drill out the access hole (It's only plastic after all and hidden under the seat) and be able to insert a nut driver down through there but was just wondering if you figured out a trick to reach those two lock nuts to tighten the mount.

If you remove the rear tail section, EVERYTHING is accessable, with no special tools, i.e, phillps screw driver, 4 or 5 mm allen couple push pins, and maybe on oem tail hollder 4 mm torq heads no problem!! YOU shouldn't have to drive anything

Used a 1/4" universal & a 8mm socket to hold the nuts while fitted the allen bolts from underneath.

I only removed the seats.

Guys I'm having issues with the rear tail lights now after changing to the Rizoma tidy and lights. I bought the plug and play wire harness and the lights came with what look to be small balists or resisters and when you go to turn the turn signal on I get nothing. I switch the wires and I've been able to make the right tail light work but that's using the left signal. So I thought I had the sides switched so I swapped the wiring and then I get nothing? Any ideas?

Or get one of these USA made full carbon fiber tail tidy's. 100% carbon and matte finish.

For those with tail tidy's check your taillights for damage over time as anything aside from the original big fenderlike tail increases impact from stuff picked up by the big rubber tire.
