Each to their own but I would use a RAM mount with X-Grip. Works like a charm and you can change it to a go pro mount as well. :)

dude lives in florida... only has to go straight...
to each their own.. but to much for me... respect the thought and time..

I love these comments... I like to listen to music while i ride and was just playing around... I dont like the ram mounts because it blocks the display, this lays it down... Its just zip tied in place...i havnt rode it yet with it..... Next is to modify the nrc fender eliminator kit and make it sequential....

as Moto Dynamic are still giving the Panigale community NOTHING to go on. I applaud you taking matters into your own hands Mac

Bikes are for riding not for attaching tablet/phones to. Whats so important that you cant wait till you are off the bike.

Seen it all now

Navigation on some rural backroad in an unfamiliar place. Live doppler updates. This is only the beginning of what is to come or expansion of what is already here. Isn't sat-nav already an option on the Diavels?

^This! The mount the OP made for his Note 4 looks like overkill to me as well, but the phone itself certainly isn't too big to mount there. I've used my similar-sized iPhone 6+ very effectively on the bike using the myradar app to dodge thunderstorms, and there are plenty of other apps that would prove useful.

I got that X-Grip for my iPhone 6, because they didn't have a cradle yet. But the dang grips of the X's, attach right at the volume controls! The cradle has since come out and I switched.

I had that same problem so I went to Rokform. This thing is great all aluminum, and the whole thing comes off with one pinch screw and my dash is clean again.

OP, i'd like to see more of the how you made and attached your mount.

Takes away from the look of 1199 imho. Looks like you have an 899 which looks less sexy to me anyways haha. Jk.

Fwiw, my solution to listening to music and navigation whiledst riding is to have a bluetooth headset connected to my cell phone that's in my Dainese jacket and Trickster onesy. I have the Scala Q3 version and it was on sale for $200ish. Then with your left hand on the set, you can control the music from my cell music player and it has speakers that stick to the inside of the ear cutouts in my Shoei GT-Air. Also has a stickon mic that goes in front of my mouth (with a surprising amount of room btw) that you can actually answer a phone call by shouting "answer" haha. Only got called twice so far. Works ok but hard to hear with my loud ... exhaust at freeway speeds.

I must say, I'm shocked as too how much listening to music can add to the Pani experience haha. I'm still VERY AWARE of my surroundings and what's going on.

I think having the visual of the cell down there lighting up and blinking and nav going, would be a completely different story

Plus there are enough riders that look like tards on the road, I don't think I would think too highly of some guy staring at a giant phone on his triple clamp, just sayin' lol. You could be the best and talented rider ever, but perception is reality imho. I'm 36yrs old btw. Not thaaaat old haha.

Plus in Cali, it's illegal to have earbuds of any sort in both ears, that's why speakers are allowed. Btw.

I use the RAM mounting for my phone and GoPro.

The Florida comment is quite apt, there are very few turns here, especially where he's located. Hmm, CNC milling, Merritt Island... you're either in the Aerospace or Firearms industry - or both?

Personally I wouldn't mind having my Note 2 mounted up there like that. I just think more of a minimalist approach to the mount would be preferred.
