Sato Racing Engine sliders

$289 plus $15 for shipping from SATO. I didn't get the suspension support bracket option. Unfortunately I paid retail something I rarely do but I was impatient because I wanted them on to test and set my new Ohlin rear suspension and forks at extreme lean angles. Worried about those low slides that can happen without a proper suspension set up.

Agree. I ordered one but I already low slided with extreme lean. :(

I need to put this on. Front slider worked and DP CF took the hit.

I ordered mine as well but with the supporting bracket, so have to wait for few weeks. Looks like they will add some extra protection.

brgds

Sorry to hear that. I hope every things ok with you and the bike. I came close to low sliding while I was testing and setting up the rear suspension but the T/C kick in hard and I was able to recover. Finally have the rear setup the way I want it for the canyons and hopefully I will never have to use the SATO slider.

I am fine, in fact, I got very lucky with the damage I think. I was actually surprised with how little damage.

i have them on my Bike. Great quality.

Not to be the guy that argues, but looking from the photo, it appears the handle bars stick out further than the sliders do, case and point the bars hit first during OOPS MOMENT while sliders SHEAR OFF during track OOPS how about something a tad longer maybe different location??

Tad longer may be ok but the way I ride when Im leaning, my low side handle bars are actually pressing forward and i let it twist the other way while low siding. I tried twisting it towards the ground once when i was younger trying to recover, ended up high side. Never ever did that again :D My handle bars never protected my bike during any of my of low side crashes when the rear end comes out first. The frame sliders, engine slider and axle sliders always did their job for me. Hopefully these will when needed. I'm no mechanical engineer but they seem to be sturdy and good quality. I do recall when one of my bikes fell over due to the kickstand sunk into the hot asphalt and the handlebars protected my bike. Boy was I lucky.

The best protection for me is of course is insurance! $384/year for actual cost of a new bike plus $15k of upgrades and accessories and free towing with AAA.

I went with Rizoma - not sure if I want the frame sliders, not very attractive, but better than the alternative I suppose.

it looks nice. i am waiting for mine as well. i have some extra protection on the bars as well, just in case.

Nope - I am having to get a new (30mm) post made. Pit bull has one, but I have the DP, and dang it, I'm stickin' to it! :)

Oh, and I had to widen the carrier nut holes, as those are Ti replacements in a Ti hub.

I have Rizomas on front and back, I love them. I also have the DP rear stand, however it appears that the DP rear stand makes the bike tilt to the right slightly (when viewed from the front of the bike) .. is it me or are you experiencing the same.

Who is the chain from ?

I would really like to get some underbody frame sliders.

I use a chock for the front, so no leaning issues.

That is the AFAM/DID ZVM-X Gold Chain/sprocket kit:

Ordered mine...arriving this week...

I think its simply ingenius what this Jap company-Sato Racing has engineered.
Awesome engine sliders that are ingeniously mounted to different points on the engine.

Had to be the Japs!

Other than look pretty cool, what does that do for you? I guess it improves acceleration(?) Does it decrease top end?

Way back there was dicussion that a 14T sproket helped with the funky low-end and mid-range, and this was a fix for some. Also, a lot of riders here and all over the net always drop a tooth on every bike they get. So that started it, then of course the up-map came and straightened it out. I still think I'll keep the 14, as I have gotten used to the new power band, and don't need 187mph so much, and the low end is awesome. Also it lightened up the drive train by several pounds.

I also have both and I tested them other week with a low slide other week :(

It did its job and worked.

Wait, I missed that - how do you get the DP rear stand to work with Rizoma's 30mm hole?
