I'm looking at building up a second set of wheels for the 'R. My goal is to reduce mass as much as possible, so most likely looking at carbon or Magnesium, but am open to any recommendations. I'll be switching to a 520 chain and building up complete kits with hardware, brakes, etc. I'll be using these wheels most likely as the street set and use my Marchesini forged aluminum units for mounting up slicks for track work. What do you recommend?

Why would you use the better (lighter) wheels for the street instead of the track?

A somewhat related question... any fast track riders have feedback on upgrading S/R wheels? Is it really noticeable? Is CSS a better place for your money?

I recommenrd you do the opposite of your plan. Use the aluminum rims on the street and the CF or Mags on the track. Lightweight wheels are not really all that beneficial beyond looks on the street.

The lighter wheels will make a huge difference to your riding you will almost be at pro level .
I have found with my Magnesium wheels my brain worked better and people said I actually smell better and look younger .

In addition to the same benefits of magnesium wheels, the RotoBox RBX2 wheels I'm selling have been clinically proven to add BOTH length and girth to your penis, so they're even better while costing less - WIN ;)

From these testimonials it goes to prove that 60% of the time Rotobox gets you laid everytime! :D

Now that I have the upgraded from a base 1199 to the 1199S I ride so much faster I can't wait to upgrade to the 1299 to really test my exceptional riding ability.

I also feel I smell better but my brain has yet to catch up.

I'm confused because the salesman told me this all happens with the purchase of an 'R...

..just so you know....the 2013 1199r has wheels already as light as carbon bst's - while the carbon might be just a little bit lighter, and i say "might" because i do not remember the weights, the difference is probably not worth the dollars, unless you really really have to have them :)

-- even though weight in this area means everything, i'd think you'd be ok with the stock wheels..

Although the weight difference may only be a few hundred grams per wheel the BST's are lighter in its outer circumference, exactly where it makes the biggest difference and it is therefore still worthwhile to get BST's.

...ehhh "ok".....i'm not saying no, just not as significant as from the cast wheels on base/S(?) model versus the forged on R

-- on my zx6......wow....a different world of fun :)

The S, Tricolore and R all have the same wheels and I agree those wheels are super light. :)
