Good Day All,

Sitting on the fence right now about if I will keep or sell my 2012 1199S with 5700 miles (rebuilt title).
From past experience I realize once you have modded a bike to a given point it is going to bring more money if parted out, or bring as close back to stock and then sell off items.

It is a no issue bike with a pretty long list of mods, and would make any potential 1199S owner extremely happy. With the branded title I think I might be able to get $10,000.. Between the aftermarket wheels, rapidbike racing , full termi, brembo masters this & that, carbon fiber, ducabike and what not.

Any thoughts? I am guessing the big hard to sell items would be frame (reconstructed) and the motor.

I honestly dont know but if you want to get rid of the RB I'll take it. Can pay at anytime.

Part it out. Bikes never achieve their full value for all the $$$$ in aftermarket parts.

you will always get more if you part it but you have alot of work ahead of you to get the $$$.

Good luck

I bought my panigale heavily modded with a rebuilt title. because they were basically the same addons i would've purchased on my own, i felt like it was worth it since i would be saving tons on parts and labor. plus i have no plans to sell. the problem is a lot people dont want to be married to it for the long haul. they see rebuilt title and think offering you pennies on the dollar to take it off your hands is doing you a favor.

if you are in no rush, i would keep it modded and eventually you'll find a buyer that wants one they can jump on and ride already tricked out but for a little less than what they are going for with clean titles. if you are ready to move on now, take a week to part it out and sell it all on ebay.

I wouldn't part out look on ebay parts everywhere you will have to give the parts away believe me I did it with R parts plus shipping fees not the way to go.

I agreed with Carlito and Carbondave. I just finished a total ground up build of a 2013 1199R and cost me more than 15K. I plan on keeping forever as I don't get rid of things. I did this build because it is my hobby and I have been bored lately at the house. I want two bikes at the track as I do over 10-15 track days a year.

Thank you for the Input, parted out a few bikes over the last 5 years, but shipping charges have gone through the roof!...

Will just post it up, and see what happens.. If I don't sell it, guess it is not ment to be..

I’m not familiar with “rebuilt title”. Is that the same as a salvage title?
