I just impulse purchased this as well. Can you hear the unit if you wear earplugs?

Also, where in your neck roll did you mount the battery?

Yes I wear plugs and I can hear the unit loud and clear. I hid the battery in the neck roll directly at the back of the helmet, it tucked away nicely and to be honest I've never given it a second thought.

I was too harsh on this unit when I bought it, it is small, light and works well. Hope you enjoy it too.

i got one on my helmet. the new model is so sleek. I tucked the battery in by the end of the cheek pads; instead of at the back of the exterior.
