Very cool rides, but let's be honest this is such a Look at my BIG ..... post.

No clue what you do for a living, But props for aquiring some cool toys.... Pics of the of the new wife, so we can move this conversation onto more productive talk!

Congrats with the Aston. Lovely car. Take your foot off the juice a split of a second before you flip the paddle for a up change and then put foot again. That should speed up and smooth the change.
Don't mind the others, they are just jealous which is funny as they are on 1199 and 1299 Panigales which are not cheap either... :D

you guys now what i read first?

........

and was like - is there a Prince Albert McLaren conspiracy going on?

LOL

...... shifter

I feel your pain, sort of. I am a Bond wannabe for the past 4+ decades, but I would sell an AM in in a heartbeat if it severely didn't work as well as I wanted it to. Getting ready for a track day tomorrow with Sophia (1199S). If I ever think that she is holding me back........HA!! I aspire to be worthy!!!! The job of the rider is to adapt and compensate for the inevitable engineering compromises. Otherwise it is an emotionless technical exercise.

You are welcome to come ride with me at Miller Motorsports Park, SLC area, may have a new name next year. Put a trailer on the AM and bring your bike.

I find this thread to be, at the very least, ironic. Anyone who has purchased a Panigale (at least bought it new or lightly used), cannot possibly claim to be anything other than comfortably well off.

Someone in the lower middle class might scrape together pennies and save for a dream 748. But Panigales? It's a number of pots calling the Aston-owning kettle black, is what this thread is.

Now, life certainly isn't fair. A couple of years ago, I looked up what constituted a "1%er" (socioeconomically, not in terms of motorcycle clubs). I found that earning more than $400k-ish a year placed one in this "1%", which the "99%" was pretty bent out of shape about when their occupied Wall Street.

Well fancy that, I'm in the 1%. So I put on airs for a bit, my speaking intonation became a bit more disdainful, and I thought quite a lot of myself.

Until....I discovered, the 1% might hold a hugely disproportionate chunk of America's wealth, but that didn't exactly mean *I* was wealthy. I don't even make a million a year. I can't afford the monthly payment on a brand new Porsche 911 Turbo S, not without taking food out of my kid's mouths. I'm stuck with a 12 year old Audi RS6 that's been tuned to a measly 520hp. Not that I drive much anyways, or if I do, it's always nice to take the wife's year-old Mercedes GL450.

I feel CHEATED!! This is NOT FAIR!! It's the 0.1%ers, or really, the 0.01%ers that hoard all this wealth. I might be able to buy any new motorcycle on a whim, but what is this ridiculous situation where I can't buy any new CAR I fancy, and that my house is but a mere 3600 square feet??

So now I know - my life is insufferable. My wife and I have to park our cars OUTSIDE in the SUN, because we only have enough garage space for our three Ducatis and a measly few grand worth of tools. I have to ration out my carbon fiber purchases each month so as not to screw up my family's budget.

And it's all because of the SUPER RICH. Damn them and their Astons, their Ferraris, their Rolls-Royces. THEY'RE the reason why my life is bereft of the necessities I deserve.

And thus I realize, every attack on the original poster is valid, because the rest of us must live in similar squalor to myself. I am so poor I cannot buy a second 1299S for track duty only - I must arduously prepare my street 1299S for the track every time I go. Truly, this is exemplary of unfair income disparity.

Exactly!! Better idea is to NOT help anyone, NEVER do an ounce of good because most of it will be wasted.. I agree with this..

And don't even get me started on starving children right here in our own country... Who cares!!!.. They don't live near me and my kids don't go to school with THOSE kids.. Philanthropy and Volunteering is way over rated.. You only live once.. Spend you money on all the wants..
Can you show off your volunteer hours on Facebook? NO.. Do you get "Likes" on your youtube video if you help the poor.. NOT as many as you would if you just added a Full Titanium exhaust for $4300.. Hell yeah
If poor people wanted to change their situation, they would.. They are just lazy.. right??????

lol

Anyways, I am not a fan of how foreign and domestic aid works in Washington DC. But there are more direct avenues to assist the impoverished, of which there is a shockingly high number of in America. I prefer to use those methods.

To wit - if your income is low, and you're Black or Hispanic, I'll take you as a client pro bono. It's my tiny contribution to closing the socioeconomic gap, which to be honest, my paid work helps to widen.

I'm also a patchholder in a motorcycle club (MC). Part of wearing that MC cube on my cut means a commitment to charity work. It doesn't change the system that creates poverty and suffering in the first place, but it does do something positive.

It's true I live pretty well, although not as well as I deserve to, due to those damned billionaires (see above post).

But while one can post about their latest achievements or toys on social media, isn't it somewhat gauche to brag about every single charitable act one does? Because true charity is done for the sake of helping others, not to fish for approval or praise from others. I find no hypocrisy in spending the day working with kids in government projects, then riding home on a shiny red Ducati Panigale.

Bought a new Aston Martin V12 Vantage S. It's beautiful, loud, fast, sexy, did I mention loud? 6.0L N/A V12. It's ... on wheels. Except for the transmission. It's dogshite - a single clutch automated manual. The quick shifter on the Panigale is so infinitely better it's laughable.

That said, did I mention the sound of that V12? Holy crap. It's amazing. Fantastic. I love the car. But really, they need to just talk to someone, anyone, who knows transmissions.

I recognise the 1299 of course but which one is the Aston Martin ?

What does one do to make $400,000+ a year? As obviously I am in the wrong career field.

Comfortably well off to own a Panigale? I don't even make a 6 figure income. I drive a 2015 RC-F and my 2 motorcycles.

Riding a Panigale may be very expensive for a sportbike but it's the price of a Honda Civic or Accord. Financing 300-400 a month isn't a definition of being well off. Now having a 400+ thousand dollar garage full of vehicles is the definition of well off. The Panigale is the cost of wiping ones ... after taking a .....
