anyone know the best price and safe company to ship a engine from US to UK?

what documents/ etc is needed?

Having my engine built and would like to send it out if its not too much trouble / cost

any help would be appreciated

I have sent exhausts and forks to Germany and US Mail was always the least expensive, go figure.
An engine due to weight might be a different story though.
The shipping company will know what info you need to supply.

I always check usps for shipping first, for larger/heavier items check uship.

Sorry, don't have any better advice

I attempted to ship a LED 1199S light once to Australia using UPS. Absolutely astronomical price. USPS was so much more reasonable for international.

For some reason unbeknownst to mankind, the postal service is the most affordable 9 times out of 10.

Have had many items shipped to my home from all over the world and the cheapest and most reliable were the postal services from the country of origin.

USPS doesn't ship heavy engines.

USHIP isn't international.

The items UPS and Fedex International will ship are ridiculously overpriced. Their international services are geared toward high volume commercial sellers that get 30-60% discounts off their outrageous prices. ....Also let this be a guide to those shipping USPS international- do it online. You cave a good couple $$.

You are going to be VERY limited to the company you use for an overseas freight endeavor.

My last R engine was shipped to Norway. Buyer handled all the paperwork, even found the company called JetCarrier. I crated the motor and dropped it off to some ghetto bonded warehouse in Linden NJ.

I'm gonna have to say a lot of google searching will be your friend here.

Another US buyer bought an S1K engine fro me and thankfully he handled shipping to Honduras. Plain and simple nothing (in my opinion) is worth the headache of overseas freight shipping. From cost, to risk involved. no thanks.

There is a dealer here in the USA called Fast By Ferracci that can do to your engine whatever you want done. He's only built Championship AMA and WSBK Ducati's. Here's there info and lmk I'll call ahead for you. ;)

Fast By Ferracci
Address: 1901 Davisville Rd, Willow Grove, PA 19090
Phone: 888-337-7222

Or Boulder Motorports. They are also the official importer of Marelli in the US and put Shane Turpin in a one off WSBK race at Miller a few years back on an 1198.

Ben Fox might be hard to get a hold of this time of year. Isn't he working in WSBK with Buell again?

Yes, you are correct. I was just laying out some options. There are some really great engine builders in the US. Luckily, I have one right here in Florida.

Agreed, no reason to ship a motor overseas IMHO. Plus you are still going to have to tune it when you get it back, may as well get it all done with the same builder.
