Today I received some parts back after anodization. I'll show more pictures as soon as I installed them. Hopefully tomorrow before I am going to the WDW (first real test for the SL over the Alps) :D

Anodization (as chromium plating etc.) is a regular chemical industrial process. There are dozends of companies that do this in my region. Check your yellow pages or ask colleagues... People are often not aware of companies that do this kind of services in metal industry.

I can't tell you about the price, it could be 50, 100 or 150 bucks. It really depends on the country and the company doing it. Also quality and color could vary, as well as thickness of the coating. Normally the thicker the better. 15 micron for anodization is normal. hard anodization is 50 micron (I only use this for parts that are mechanically under very hard environment, and it's more expensive as well).

+1 and where do you get something like that done?:D

Check around you. There must be a local place that can do this.

I had some work done for one of my cars and the place did several metal finishes. In my case I only needed yellow zinc plating... It sure makes everything look pretty :)

These are all original parts (46 years old parts! ) that were cleaned and then plated.

Porsche 356?

1967 Porsche 912

I just hope that it runs after I am done with it... :D. I am redoing all the mechanical aspect of it. Body will stay as is for now (well... replacing the floors). I just want to make sure that every mechanical part is in like new condition. So engine rebuild, transmission, brakes, suspension, etc. Nothing concourse, just so that it runs well.

Did anodize some more parts and installed a COX radiator together with some CF.
Also found a cool company that could remove the rear spring yellow color in a super-toxic chemical way and newly powder coat it in red, for only 50 bucks .
