i was asked weather i wanted any extras while i had it broken apart

i decided to get the DP carbon key and air vents.

whoever im lost with the DP windscreen? should i or not get one?

price AUS $180 fitted
no point thinking of other brand cause it be 120 + installing

i looked at other post and dont know if the look wins me over
the tint is barely nothing but still a PLUS
cant fold the mirrors
abit of wind protection

for those that own this screen or a race screen please tell me your thoughts.

Hi mate
I am about to fit one. Have bought one from a fellow forum buddy.

cheers

I've got one, recommended. If you have to fold the mirrors then fold them forwards rather than back as the base will catch and mark the screen.

I put it on mine but I haven't ridden with it yet though. My left mirror folds back with no issue. The right side just touches the windscreen when I fold it back. A thin piece of cardboard stops it from scraping the windscreen. If you fold them forward there is no issue at all.
This is the same windscreen that comes stock on the R.

I got the Doublebubble Dark Smoke screen. Better wind protection, easy install without removing front fairing, (glued bottom 2 screw caps to screen, works great) and looks great.
New windscreen and Seat was a must to upgrade.

I fitted it but I'm not convinced that it helps on road, I'm 6' and I reckon it throws the wind straight into my helmet but I can't be bothered to swap the OEM screen back to test! For the track or high speed riding there's no question it helps when it the tuck position.

On balance I'd say yes.

yes to get it?

-- look at Zero Gravity - i haven't done enough homework to know how the DP screen lines up profile wise as compared to any of the Zero Gravity ones, but there are enough pictures on their site to be able to see something - i have been using their Corsa screen

-- if you look close at the picture, you can see the differences between their profiles: look at the grey bar across the top of the picture to gauge the height differences - you can see them in greater detail on the web site itself

Yes get it.

I haven't evaluated the other non DP products though as I prefer DP original so all I'm saying is that if I had the choice between OEM and the DP screen I would get the DP.

Blue,
It's really up to you man. The question you have to ask yourself is, is it dark or light enough for you? Some complain of the tint. Do you fold mirrors? Do you need wind protection, depending on your usage of bike? Or is is mostly for aesthetics?

I personally like the light tint, light weight look and the very slight mirror sheen it gives off in certain lights. I bought one a year ago, haven't installed it yet. (this month probably)
But I might have gone with Puig or Fabbrio if it were out when I bought the DP one. Only because of loyalty. I liked both on my 996/1098.

I have the DP Screen.... I love it... I love the looks and the way it reduces buffeting... I recommend it...

I have the DP, sitting in a box in the garage. I didn't like the slight tint and less than optimal optics, though it filled the purpose while Puig and ZG worked on their offerings.

Once they were finally available, I went with the clear Puig. Fits perfect and is much better optically. Plus you have a choice of colors: Replacement screens For the bike model Ducati 1199 Panigale 2012 | Puig

Don't worry about "taking advantage" of having your front cowling off, its easy enough to do yourself to fit the best screen

I have the DP screen. It's really good in the tuck and not too dark if you use a camcorder to look through the screen. I have read somewhere on this forum that some people have issues with really dark tint that causes the dash lighting to stay in night mode or they have to use a tall mount to place the camera over the dark windscreen.

I've got it too... Don't like the tint but love the height of it. I'm 6'2" and although I like the look of the stock height better, it really is more functional for me.

I had them put mine on for free during one of the many dash replacements I had.

The raised screen changes / raises the airflow. With the stock screen, airflow pushes me on the shoulders. Getting the screen will put the air flow right on my forehead. Also note that the non street legal screen is made of thinner material and more fragile than stock as it has no reinforced thick edge to it. I believe there are reports of it breaking when hit by rocks and such.

Mine broke after being hit by a stone...In my opinion its junk...I bought the ZG Corsa...love it....

Yeah, I understand that weight savings can be a factor when trying to design the lightest machine possible, but there is a point where the lightweight factor totally compromises the durability required for reliable and reasonable use. They should of optically correct like found on military aircraft. Polycarb would be strong too. What is the DP screen made of?? Acrylic?? Looks like cost control to me.
