Im going to be upgrading the rear shock on my base 1299 to the Ohlins TTX GP 466 within the next 4 to 6 weeks. I also want to upgrade my front end as well. Im debating whether to go with the Ohlins 30mm Nix cartridges or the Ohlins FGRT 203 front forks (gold or black not sure). My question is what if i wanted to get an Ohlins front end that that fit the 1299S. If Im not mistaken the Marzocchis diameter on the front end of a base 1299 is thicker than on a 1299S up top so Im sure the upper clamp would need to be changed. Would the bottom clamp also need to be changed if I bought an Ohlins front end that fit a 1299S? The FGRT 203s are made to fit Panigales with the Marzocchis front end. If I wanted to go with an ohlins front end that fit the 1299s Im guessing the FGRT 203 wouldnt fit. What would be the correct Ohlins front end? Im 95% sure I wont try to get the 1299s front end size on the bike. But Im just curious as to what would be needed for it to work

S - 53mm vs. Base - 57mm if I'm not mistaken.

No need to get S anything. If you have a base, fgrt203 fit right in. Nothing else needed. And as far I'm aware, they only come in gold. Black ones are for a different bike I think.

If Im not mistake they do come in black. I will look up the part number but I did see somewhere they came in black. I could be wrong

I am currently running the 466 in the rear and 203 up front it's definitely 57 top 58 bottom. Ditch the stock clamps they are crap get a set of CnC Racing top/bottom clamp package.

I have a cnc racing top clamp. I also just bought the ducabike adjustable clipons. I will stick to the 203 set up instead of the 214 set up. Im going to see if I can pick up just the bottom cnc racing clamp

Hey man awesome so yeah you can pick up the just the bottom clamp and also will need the steering stem as well.

Mike1976 i made a mistake I have the Ducabike top clamp. If i wanted to get the cnc racing bottom with stem would it still work?

Probably could work but you would never be able to to change the offset since the CnC stuff has the adaptors.

I guess I may have to sell the ducabike top clamp and get the cnc racing setup.
