Hey guys. New to the forum, first time Ducati owner. Just picked up a new Streetfighter V4, and love it! Well, love most of it. These mirrors kinda seem to suck, but maybe it's just me. Stupid noob question... How adjustable are these stock mirrors? I see that they have the screw at their bases to tighten or loosen and you can push them forward and backwards. But do the the actual mirrors move at all? I mean the ACTUAL mirrors at the top of the whole assembly, not the arms that adjusted by loosening the screw. I tried moving them, but I was met with resistance and didn't want to break anything.

moving the glass? i have a v2 and the housing is fixed.

So they are fixed it seems? I thought so. I was trying to move them, but they wouldn't budge. I thought if I kept forcing them, I would break something. Guess I was right! Man, for such a nice bike, these mirrors are pretty... Not nice.

the glass moves with some pressure. if there was zero resistence, they would eventually be pointed at the ground.

again, the housing is fixed and will snap off quite easily.

there are plenty of options for removing the stock mirrors. some are quite nice.

So you put pressure on the glass itself, within the housing? The glass moves vertically, while the arms move horizontally? Is that correct? Tried looking in the manual, it didn't really have much of an explanation.

i have a v2 but i would assume the glass is a ball mount with three degrees of freedom.

You are right! Thanks a bunch! I read the manual and looked all over the internet for this simple problem I had! Still, I think some bar end mirrors would work better...

The mirrors sucking and seeming as if they were purchased at an aftermarket shop as if the Ducati designers just simply forgot to design them, is a standard discussion piece. Because it's like that. They break really easily. the rest of the bike makes more sense. It's as if they just put them there because it's require by law and expect everyone to do something original or not have mirrors because, racetracks.

Ah, so Ducati mirrors suck. I can believe it lol. Guess I can invest in some aftermarkets... LOVE the rest of the bike. Flawless, as far as I’m concerned. Been riding six years, finally decided it was time for something top tier. Man, this power is taking some getting used to.

The glass moves in all directions. It will tilt up down left and right. All you need to do is press gently on the glass.
It just moves left and right. Up and down you have to move the whole assembly so the lever moves also. Not nice.

This is how my oem mirror looks like:

As you see from the fingerprints I tried to push but with no luck.
