Because I can't have nice things, and people generally suck, some one was nice enough to take the pad off the cowl as a souvenir. I'm not sure what it's called, tail fairing pad? Seat pillion pad? Cowl pad? The parts film doesn't show it as a separate piece. I'm hoping someone has one, or a damaged fairing. Or perhaps just point me in the direction of a nice looking after market alternative. All I see are cheesy whole cowls in carbon fiber.
Thanks

There are options for a replacement. eBay search for 1199 Ducati seat. You will see many

Wondering if someone pulled it off or if it just popped off on a ride (like my entire rear cowl piece did).

Thanks, I'm looking at one on eBay, just would rather keep the oem one, as I'm not sure how the "carbon fiber" print or what ever it is will look or hold up. There doesn't seem to be an alternative to the carbon look stuff. It was lifted when I had it parked.

I thought about this part of the 1199 a thousand times during the last 3 years.
Just a shot into the dark: would anybody be interested to have it CNC milled out of a block of billet aluminium, nicely anodized (with an integrated flap that covers a CAN-bus and battery connector)?

That's a cool idea, not sure if I would write anything, but it's a good place for a some script, if you wanted to personalize the bike, maybe a message, quote, serial number or something...

Very cool idea!
A separate place for an inlay (aluminium customizable plate engraved).

Just wanted to bump this up, stoll hoping someone has an oem one kicking around until something better is made up.

Still looking for a stock pad if anyone has one, or if anyone has a review of the carbon fiber style ones on eBay,

Just a comment. I rode to work yesterday, left my bike baking in the 90+ degree weather, in direct sunlight, for 9 hours. When I was riding home, I felt something on my butt. I freaked out cause I thought the entire pillion cover had come off, but saw what turned out to be the cover that you are missing. I stuck it in my jacket and got it home, luckily, but just the heat was enough to loosen the bonding agent (which looks like putty). So perhaps yours was not stolen, but fell off.

Once I secured it safely and knew I wouldn't lose it, I immediately thought of you bro.

I wish, but alas, it was parked on a busy street next to another bike at night and came out to find it missing.
