Spare parts for the track?

I’ve been to the track 3 times now, and gone off track 3 times but didn’t crash…I’m obviously slow as ...., but thats largely because I know I suck on this bike and am just very methodically trying to improve slowly but steadily over time, eventually I’m sure I’ll put the bike down, but it won’t be from pushing too hard before I have a basic level of competency at the track lol
I would recommend signing up for a school before moving forward (Yamaha Champions, Class, or Cal Super Bike School). I believe professional instruction is the best way to start any new sport. Then take that information and go practice good habits instead of learning habits that may need to be changed.

Most track day providers will allow you to re-tech your bike after a crash depending on how bad. Most providers will not allow you back on the track if your helmet has any damage.

the 1st two of my 3 track days were with California Superbike school, at Fontana I was trying to practice what I learned, but that got derailed a bit when the gear position sensor failed, though I did improve my cornering and practice better turn in, throttle control, body position etc… I know WHAT to do now, at least the basics, I just need more repetition to do it properly.

I will set it up that I have some coaches following me though

Adding rear wheel speed sensor to the list. If that fails, all of your electronics will stop working
I carry a spare radiator too after having one punctured on friday practice. Not too difficult to swap at the track
Best to just bring a second bike lol

The "bring a second bike" line is not a joke, its legit advice. I always have a second bike in trailer, especially for trips to tracks far away. The cost of time and effort to take the day off and travel is way more than the cost of the second bike, in the long run. No way I am driving 4,5, 6 hours to a track with just one bike that might crap out on me because they put the wrong forks on it at the factory lmao

At the other end of the spectrum is riding to the local, taping the mirrors then riding home...

No shame in doing that. Typically, if you are riding to track and then riding home afterward, you aren't very fast on track and you are only doing 1-2 track days a year. In which case, sure, why not.

However, OP started this thread with "guys doing lots of track days what spares would you carry"

Dont diss the humble Gixxer, a well sorted one will easily match a Pani on track rider for rider. As Tom mentioned, they are really easy to ride, bulletproof and cheap as, for example this 2016 one is a total deal at 12k- what kind of well set up Pani track bike do you get for that money? The brand is a personal preference, all the superbikes are within a gnats cock of each other if performance is your criteria- looks on the other hand :)

Just buy a spare bike with clip ons rear sets, and race body kit and that will get you started.
My point is you can never be too prepared. You can break anything on these bikes, front stays, you can pull the ignition kill switch by accident .
I will tell you one good piece of advice get blue lock tight and hit every bolt on the rear sets and undertail of body work.
Ive had body work back off near the shifter not allowing me to shift the bike.
