Stalling in first with clutch held in

My '20 poverty version does this on occasion also. Charcoal can removed. Doesn't seem to matter full fuel tank or not. Usually it's when coming to stop after a sudden deceleration. Leisurely roll to a light rarely stalls. Doesn't happen enough to really bother me. I do have a TWM fuel cap...but again, doesn't seem to correlate to fuel volume in tank. Not sure of ambient air temp correlation in my case.

That almost makes me think worn clutch. How many miles? @A0167338 if while stopped and in 6th gear and you let out the clutch while the brake is held does the bike immediately die or run for a bit?

There is an adjustment to control how much oil flows onto the clutch plates. It's on the left side near the salve. I'm not 100% that's your issue though. I wouldn't mess with it unless you verified the clutch plates are in spec.

What’s the measurement for a dry clutch without removing all the plates ? I’m at 3500 and want to check .. we have nice weather the next week so I really don’t want to dump all the plates.

People keep saying that the charcoal cannister is the source of the stall when clutch is pulled in. But I'd think if this was the cause, there would be many 1000's of cases. My buddy is going through this same issue and they just replaced the Gear Position Sensor. I'll report back if this fixed it.

I don’t have a dry clutch and don’t know the measurement off the top of my head. IIRC, the service manual only lists the height for a wet clutch. It may be in the V4R shop manual though. I’ll have to check.

I replaced my GPS and the issue started a 6 months later.. i'd be surprised if this was it.

I'll have to check this next time I'm out...though I'm not noticing any other clutch related issues. My wettie does have almost 10k miles on it though...so wouldn't surprise me if it were out of spec
