I was just messing with stem mount and someone mentioned using toggle bolt as anchor solution rather then provided rubberized center to affixed solution.

Thought give a tried and realized if I was able to used the black counter sink bolt, that would look awesome. Then...fun things start to happen...my toggle bolt dropped into the center stem and I was puzzled why it didn’t hit the ground...

So I start to look around for about 30 min and realized a cap was there...open the cap and the toggle bolt came down.

I have mine mounted with a toggle nut too, no need for the rubber piece, this way is much more secure

I’m pairing up with quad lock, decide to ditch the x grip cradle. It wiggles given the construction of the cradle

I was just installing my quadlock and exactly the same thing happened to me! I'm so glad I saw your post and popped open the cap at the bottom of the stem to retrieve the parts.
I'm not sure if it's the same version of quad lock you installed, but the version I had doesn't rely on rubber to hold in place. Its just as strong as a toggle bolt.

It has 3 metal legs that the screw fans out at the top as it pulls upwards. The 3 legs use two rubber o-rings to hold them in place on the locking bolt when it first gets inserted. It only opens correctly if the feet bite in at the bottom and fan open at the top. The first time I closed it in place, it fanned out top and bottom and the legs slipped off the bolt and down the stem.

For those installing it, I used a bit of electrical tape wrapped around the base of the legs so they cant flare out, but only at the base so the top can. Then it opens out correctly and has a rock solid connection to the bike. The bolt torque up to 5nm no problems.

Photos of final product attached. I wired in the quadlock usb charger as well (under the conduit). I have a 10cm usb c charger cord on order. Looks great, will test it tomorrow.

That’s a sweet set up!!!

My quad lock should arrived today. It should look exactly like yours. (Minus the conduit...brilliant!!)

I’m also using this a GoPro camera Mount as well, so track day camera, street ride phone mount.

The battery terminal lead and plug is just long enough to hook up to the battery and run out along the cables on the lower left side of the battery box. The plug sits outside the fairing so you can easily disconnect and remove the quadlock. I cut all the slack out of the lead on the usb socket end and rejoined the plug.

I have the 5G version of the Galaxy S10. Its slightly larger than the S10+ and Quadlock dont make a case for it. The do sell a universal adapter that glues onto any case. I glued into onto a Spigen slim case, can hardly tell it didn't come mounted to the case from the factory.

I was thinking I am running battery maintenance lead on the left side, I can just convert that plug into usb to supply power? Wondering if the lead works both way.

USB is 5v, it would be 12v coming directly from the battery so you will need to get a usb adapter. The Quadlock one gives you a usb port directly under the lock mechanism. The only thing I didn't like about it was it lifts the phone up another 15mm. I was keen to keep my phone as low to the stem as possible

That's a closer look at the usb port

That is awesome and smart charging right there!! I didn’t find any comfort connect with USB option.

Will keep looking...

Be nice if they made a quad lock with a built in wireless charger.

My thoughts exactly. They do a wireless charging option for in car or office desk use, but not compatible with the secure bike mounts. Hopefully they have something on the way.

I'm also not sure how water resistant this usb charger is. They don't mention an IP rating on the box so I'm guessing it may be an issue in heavy rain.

I stand corrected, the Usb charger is rated to IP66. Good for high pressure water jets
