this one Connector, Boot, Rubber, 5 and 6 Wire - 034Motorsport | Performance Parts for Audi, Porsche, and Volkswagen

also i was told no go on the bmw one but who knows.

So I see that BMW failed as well:eek:
Goodness me who would've thought.

If I were inclined to get one of the items you list above it would be the 5-6 wire unit.
It's only there to support the wiring as it loops over and doubles back to take the sharp bend and stresses away from the base of the male plug as it runs back down the fork.

i don't have a part number seems like brand knows but he isn't telling. i have a call into my dealer its a bmw and ducati dealer when i get it i will tell you what it is. in the mean time i believe its the 1 in id one on 034 motosports

Sorry guys.
I didn't see this earlier as I've been away in Melboune.

I don't have the part no any more:(
I threw it away after DUCATI sorted mine for me.

I would go with the non genuine item you are looking at to suit the 5-6 wire application and see how it goes from there and report back to the forum accordingly.
They're certainly cheap enough, and it's possible you will never have to replace them again.

You're quite right about this matter.

But it's all very old news now which has been dealt with to the best of my recollection.

Are you starting to run out of things to whinge about and digging old garbage up to recycle?

I will reiterate the best solution for you.
Go to your beloved BMW MOTORAD dealer and ask spare parts if they can order in for you the equivalent thing from one of their bikes:eek:
See if BMW can come to your rescue;)
They look almost identical but I think they have 1 less bellows and will fit just the same as the DUCATI part, and are used in many varied applications on the BMW's.

If you were prepared to take up a petition on the matter, I will fully support you in telling DUCATI that they need to brush their act up and be the first to sign up to it.

This reads like Shakespeare. Are you a Professor in your day job? Shees.

Here we are in 2023 and my 2012 1199S Ohlins front fork electronic suspension connector rubber boots are looking a bit worse for wear.
Is there a current consensus on where I can pick up a pair of these to renew them? Heck, I may buy a couple pair to stock up if I can find a solution--

Many thanks,

I guess I'm looking for a generic set that wouldn't have the automatic 100+% Ducati markup. Also, I understand that Ohlins did not make the rubber boot--that was a Ducati-designed part--

Greg

I don't think there's a Ducati p/n since it's a part of the main harness. I also don't think its a Ducati part since those rubber boots appear on other brand bikes that use those forks. The boots are out there though.
