Full insurance coverage, thank baby jesus!

I had my bike parked in my underground lot in my little corner next to my other two cars. Left for work and it was there, came back 8hrs later and it was gone. This was during the day, So I figured the .......s just threw it in a truck.
Haven't heard back about the video surveillance from my apt, it doesn't look good.. Those things are worthless anyways...

I've accepted that it's gone, I really am broken. Got the bike because of a terrible disease that I just got diagnosed with and I just need to get away.

So! If you happen to see one in a shipping container somewhere let me know :/

But the real question is... What bike to replace it? I've been wanting to do more touring with my wife, we both love 2up on the 1199. But anything longer than a 3hr ride or so gets tough and uncomfortable, but damn do we love that bike.

I've been thinking the Multistrada 1200 s pike peak or the 1299 or the 1290 r superduke

should i even bring up the bmw's? ;)

Sorry to hear bud!! I can totally relate! Worst feeling ever! And nobody cares!! Wish you a quick ins payout!!

Sorry to hear about the bike, That happened to me when I lived in a condo in the exact manner. The surveillance showed 2 big goons scooping up my 1098 and taking off in a van.

ps- what is your terrible disease?

Sorry to hear and I feel your pain. My brand new 06 R6 with only 700 miles was stolen from my work's parking structure and even with a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit chain.

Givin you're in Southern CA and have good insurance, hopefully they won't try and stiff you with your settlement. I have AAA and when they got around to assess the value of my bike, they checked 3 dealerships and took the average. For some dumb reason, they got a quote from a used motorcycle shop; which significantly reduced the settlement check. Hopefully this won't be the case with Ducatis.

Sorry to hear it dude on both accounts.

If you want to ride 2 up and still have the HP/Torque to smash your eyeballs effect get the ktm 1290r sd hands down.

I wish you best with the insurance and the treatment

I of course highly recommend the K1300S for long tours with wife in tow, and still having some fun alone.

Buy the new Multistrada touring and call it a day.
You will not regret it.

In no way is it a downgrade from the 1199. You can track a multi and do nearly everything the 1199 can.

Just my .02

I have the 2014 Multistrada S Touring. The bike has amazing performance plus you can ride all day and not hurt. The wife will be happy on the back. With the new changes to the 2015 models you cannot go wrong.

Good luck settling with the insurance co. My RSV4 Factory was stolen last year which lead me to the Mulit then evenutally the Panigale. I feel you pain and good luck with a replacement bike.

Little .....!!!
Very disappointing

I bought a new Pikes Peak in September, my 4th multi nothing compares although the Super Tenere 1200 was a blast but kept longing for the multi. I ride all day 2 up its a beautiful tourer and gets the attention just like the Panigale.

Test ride for half s day 2 up!

I know the feeling. Had my six week old 998S stolen in Italy on the very last morning of WDW back in 2002, despite taking all the usual precautions. If people really want it they will take it, somehow. Still doesn't stop me feeling bitter and angry towards these low life scum. I would only ask that they suffer the same fate at the hands of another and see how they feel about it.

Yeah, the K1300S is a beast. My friend has one and he sometimes brings the bags when we go out of town and helps me carry stuff :D I swear he gets so low he can touch the bags to the ground. He tells me he gets more enjoyment out of it than is 748 *gasp* hehehe

Hey guys,

Thanks a lot for cheering me up. I am leaning towards the Multi and the Superduke R. I just want to have that feeling of looking at it everyday, at every little detail and have that "good feeling" inside. Might sound corny, but riding this next bike I'll be comparing it to the 1199 and I don't want to be disappointed by not getting another one!
