What kind of stop and go around town temps are my fellow 1299 riders experiencing?

Stop and go traffic, about 215-220.. On one hot day I saw 230 sitting at a light, for what it's worth the high temp (caution/yellow) light comes on at 239 and the warning (red) comes on a 249.

I am seeing between 203 and 217 in stop and go, in about 85 - 102 degree weather. Never seen more than 217. I'm running distilled water and water wetter.

I've seen 235ish when the temp was 96 outside and humid as hell. I thought I was going to ....... melt sitting at the stoplights.

Heck it was miserable enough just a little while ago the bike showed 217 blasting down
I75 at 85 miles an hour....the air temp gauge on the bike showed 98.

Here in North Central FL the hot and humid weather seems to have come on early this year. I have been trying to limit my rides to am and evening rides. The combination of the heat this bike is putting off and the weather is just too much. If I am just out on long country road/hwy and keep it at speed she is good to go.

I have seen a high of 226 caught in traffic on a 91 degree day with high humidity. Norm riding back road and highway. I am seeing 185 to 195. As soon as I stop at a light it will go as high as 210 to maybe 215. But this is only a a light that has a long cycle.

any of you guys turn off the engine at red light? i see cops on harleys do that all the time...

oh, and it only go to 110F over the weekend. still kinda chilly

I don't kill the engine at a light, especially this one, it's considerably slower to turn over/start compared to a liter (plus Ducati may be using a less powerful starter to save weight?)

225 F at a long stop light yesterday but again drops right back to 212 range once moving (near 100 F ambient temps) - not bad but definitely calls for a quality synthetic oil

I have seen 226 but it usually stays around 221. FZR and myself have a similar climate with slightly different elevation.

In the mountains it rarely goes about 195 as the ambient temps on the blue ridge parkway are typically 15-20 degrees cooler than where I live.

I turn the Dragon Lady's fan on at 194 when necessary (in traffic) and that tends to stabilise it or bring it down. She is a 1199 though.

I've seen 225 on mine. Fan on the R comes on at 219 and does a pretty good job of holding it in that range at a stop.

It's our battery.. We have a Yuasa YTZ7S which has only 120 cold cranking amps' entirely inadequate for a 1200+ cc engine!
